according to the vin it is. Good enough for me. This is a gen IV engine, they are a little different then what most people are using on here.

Anyone got an idea of how much steelbraided line i need to order for the transmission and fuel. Probably mount the tranny cooler in front of the condenser.

Re: Project: 5.3 4l65e 4 door blazer

that steel braided hose is very high it took about 6 ft for my fuel but i used regular black hose with hose clamps for my transmission it took about 12ft for the trans

Not to beat a dead horse on the motor but here are some stats that I dug up from my book that lists GM's engine codes..

Going off the CarFax this is what I have for the only 5.3's that where made with iron blocks and still being GenIV..

LMF 5.3 LITER
E85 COMPATIBILITY
USED IN CHEVY EXPRESS AND GMC SAVANA
301 HP 325FT-LBS

LMG 5.3 LITER
E85 AND REGULAR, ALSO ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT
USED IN FULL LINEUP OF SUV'S AND TRUCKS (EXCEPT CADILLAC)
CHEVY AND GMC C/K TRUCKS RATED AT:
320HP 338FT-LBS
AVALANCHE AND SUV'S RATED AT:
320HP 340FT-LBS
9.9:1 COMPRESSION

LY5 5.3 LITER
SAME AS ABOVE LMG JUST LESS THE E85 CAPABILITY.

Note my books states that the LY5 has an oil level sensor, but does not show one for the LMG. Maybe that could be the sign of which of the two it is..Unless the book just didn't print one for the LMG..

Hope that helps clear somethings up. I think we all know it's not the LMF if using the CarFax as a guide. So I would say it's one of the 2 that are left. Maybe if it's the LMG you'll get bigger injectors for the E85 capability. That would be nice. Good luck..

Thanks for the info. I have LS6 intake and injectors. I wanted to keep the truck intake but wouldn't fit under my hood.

Re: Project: 5.3 4l65e 4 door blazer

Anyone know if the ls1 water pump will work with the truck accessories. Or if there is a truck water pump that has the top inlet facing forward instead of up like mine.

Re: Project: 5.3 4l65e 4 door blazer

I remember there being certain year truck water pumps that worked and something like 07+ that didn't for some reason...

See the difference:

I had to cut the brace on my hood even though it is a cowl hood it still has a stock style inner brace

...there are some fiberglass hoods out there without the brace
