I got an ACT 6 puck clutch, good for 925 ft/lbs of torque.
First day i had it in, i got stuck in STOP AND GO bumper to bumper traffic... THAT SUCKED!!!!!!!!!!!!! but after 2-3 weeks of driving it, it has simmered down alot. Be patient, mine used to not slip for anything, it's pretty streetable now with a trained foot, and that it has broken in.

it used to chatter so badly that the truck would shimmy like a 16 year old learning how to drive a standard for the first time.

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

by the way, you're still less invested than me!!!! (11k+) haha. You also don't have a rear end swap, and turbo.
Good job on keeping the swap price down.
I even got my engine for free~

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

Yea im alot better at the clutch now haha took me a day of driving, but she does like to chatter alot right now. Also still trying to find out whats up with my rear taillights. Found out something new, when i turn my turn signal to turn left or right the hazards come on......idk what you even look for since we didnt change the wiring harness for that, maybe im missing a ground somewhere for the lights??

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

i know we have very different trucks, but just a suggestion:
On the 2nd gens, there are two grounds for the lights on both sides of the radiator core. I know yours was out and you were painting it, so wouldn't hurt to check those grounds.

There should also be one ground on the rear of your frame under the bed. Drivers side?
Again, this is 2nd gen stuff, idk if it's the same for you.

my brake lights were acting all funky as well until i fixed that junk

A bad ground or no ground at all can cause crazy shit to happen

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

yea and when i give it gas in second it seems to stutter then go then stutter then go...idk hard to explain.
also when im in neutral, off the clutch, it makes a weird scrapping sound sometimes but not always, until i push in on the clutch it goes away, could it be the throwout bearing?

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

my throw out bearing is always against the clutch pressure plate~ and it's hard to shift at high RPM in 4th / 5th gears.

think i need a better master cylinder.
The act clutch is good for 925 ft/lbs... think i need a stronger master cylinder

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

Couple more problems i think....
When i touch the gas and let off it starts to idle up real slow to about 1500rpm sometimes 2000, and then slowly goes back down? sometimes it will just stay up there where ever it decides to stop.
Also i have a squeaky sound from the transmission, but as soon as i touch the clutch pedal it goes away? what could that be

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

On the high idle has the PCM been programmed for correc VE, injector sizes, etc.?

On the trans squeak it may be a dry throw-out bearing or maybe even a input shaft bearing a lil worn?

More than likely on the PCM programming. Jared did all that im sure.

What could i do for the squeak? sounds like i would have to take the transmission out? Also it gets faster and louder if i turn a corner.

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

think i found the issue,
the constant squeak is from a pulley but it just disappeared....
and for some reason the hoses weren't tight enough so some of them were leaking cause it to get a little warm, so hopefully she will run better after she gets some new water in her.

All you need is the fuel pump kit.

http://www.racetronix.com/product/RX..._Pump_Kit.html

When i had there harness hooked up the pump was getting power until i hooked it up like it was stock without there harness.

Im wondering if its getting lean or something, but it doesnt do it when its cold.

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

After alot of people responses from here and over on ls1tech.com, it seems to be a vacuum leak.

Whats the best way to test for vacuum leaks and to figure out where its coming from.

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

My tried and true method is to spray all the vacuum connections with starting fluid or anything flammable while the motor is idling. A change in idle speed indicates a leak at the connection you just sprayed.

Re: Project: 1st Gen Six Speed

Mr Spree... i hate you...
I give you advice to fix your brakes, AND NOW MINE ARE FUBAR!!!!

Mine worked for months, just the other day something happened. my right rear tail light shuts off instead of blinking on... but only messes up when the headlights are on. And it switches w/ BOTH reverse lights....
Hmmmmmmm.

Anyway, I'm not sure what clutch master cylinder i want to use, but the 2.2L s10 master isn't enough.

Does anyone know if there's a diff between the 2.2L s10 and the 4.3L s10 clutch master cylinders??

And i had that same idle issue with Jared's PCM. once i got tuned, and put my bigger injectors in (60#'s,) the issue went away. The MAF's alot of the time are different voltage charts through LS1 years, and that was the issue i had. (said the tuner)

So changing my MAF could fix the problem if there is no leak?
I tried using propane to see if the idle would change and it never did anywhere i put it
