all you would need is the alternator bracket then, those are usually around $75 on ebay.

Figure I'd throw this out there, Aeromotive makes a fitting that will plug right into that and have -10AN on the other side. I used it on another LSx project, its part# Aeromotive 15104

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

For starters I would like to show some appreciation for the fellas who pioneered the installations of these motors in their trucks. What I want to know is what do people do for trucks with the vin 4 motor (pre mid 2000) do for their fuel system? That fuel pump doesn't produce much more than 40 psi and the fuel filter is totally different than the vin 5 motors.

The way that I did this was to purchace 2 items from a 2003 4.3L Chevrolet Blazer.

(1) Low Pressure switch the GM part number for the switch is: 52473139
(1) Accumulator, the Accumulator Part Number is: 89038598

You can see the Low pressure switch as shown here in this diagram As #1
The 2.2L will not have this.

The GM part number for the switch is: 52473139
The Accumulator Part Number is: 89038598

Thanks to jhakinson for bringing this to my attention

If you need any fittings to adapt the compressors here is where i purchaced my fittings.
Rays Auto - #10, 1/2" Air Conditioning Fittings

i got one of the current performance ecm's i think its for ls motor, does the same apply??

My truck was a 2.2L Flex fuel truck. I HAVE MADE NO MODIFICATIONS TO THE FUEL SYSTEM! the factory flex fuel pump has supported 491RWHP and The filter has a built in regulator. Same as the Corvette. I used (2) Russell part# 640850 fittings and a chunk of braided stainless line that was all I needed.

i just thought of something else with us flex fuel guys doing the lsx swap...the fuel composition sensor, located between the a-arm and firewall on the passenger frame rail

do we need to get rid of that sensor or use it??

i like this setup better than on my 98 where the fuel lines thread in right behind the head.

hopefully yall know what im talkin about???

i got 2 days to put the motor in and i need help asap

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

First off I would like to thank every one for all the information, really good reading. I purchased a 94' S15 the day they hit the lot for my first vehicle, put 276,000 miles down and had to get rid of it 7 years ago to make room in a vehicle for a car seat. Just picked up a 2003 ZQ9 and looking to join the fun. Again thank you all for taking the time.

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

What would a reg cab short bed Xtreme run in the 1/4 with 4.10 gears and a stock ls1? and tires as well. and maybe some other small mods. I've been wanting to put an ls1 in any of my trucks and if i do it i would def use my Xtreme. It seems kinda pricey tho. Since i have no engine or anything.

Sorry to see no one responded to you sooner, You will want to use the intake gaskets for the LS1 intake. The Truck intake gaskets will not work.

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

If the transmission came from an LSx vehicle, then no spacer is needed.
If the trans is from an older SBC then an adapter is needed.

So to answer your question directly, no, no spacer needed since the 98 Camaro V8 was an LS1.

What if my 4L60E was from my 2000 S10 and was bolted to my 4.3, still no spacer required? I did measure the distance from the block edge from each block to each flexplate and theyre exactly the same.

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

Huh.....seemed to bolt up with no problems. TC bolt holes had to be elongated to fit the stock TC, also the TC did not slide any farther forward to the 4.8 flexplate than it did with the 4.3 flexplate. I will post results once its running.

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

Not sure if anyone still looks at these pages but i have a 98 Chevy blazer that i am putting a 5.3L with a ls1 intake and corvette accessories. I was curious to know what part of the stock fuel system i could use. I was planning on running the corvette regulated fuel filter. Could i use my stock fuel pump? And would i have to get new fuel lines in order for everything to work, like evap?
Thanks

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

I have been thinking about putting a ls1 with a t56 in my truck for sometime now (99 Xtreme 4.3 5spd) and i had some questions. Is 3500 a good price for a ls1 with a t56 (came out of a wrecked trans am) that includes the wiring and computer, front cross member with engine mounts, shifter, pedals, and the hydrolics for clutch? I've been looking around and i can't seem to find any others cheaper than that price. Also does anyone know if i will be able to use my stock console? and or will i have to cut the hole back farther for the shifter? I decided that im not gonna have a/c on it so i won't have to mess with any of that. Where can i find long tube headers? all the links that people have posted won't let me go to them. or is the shortys good enough? If anyone knows where i can find an engine cheaper please tell me. 3500 for an engine and trans kinda high. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
