Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

your best bet is probably a 5 wire from a newer truck. They are 85mm and flow a lot more then a stock 4.3L sensor. I dont run a maf sensor at all, I run my truck in speed density

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

So is there anybody on here that can say definitively what is needed to swap in a T-56? I have a 1998 2.2l 5 speed and am swapping in a H/C LS1 w/ a GTO oil pan, truck accessories, and a T-56.

I only have the tranny so far, and wanted to see if I need a master or slave, and if so from what body and year.

Thanks
Rob

vette alt, vette power steering pump and reservoir, vette alt/power steering bracket; basically, he used vette accessories with an A/C kit from Hotrod Lane.

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

Another note for the A/C system to add to what BlackX has put here....for those who have gotten the harness from Current Performance...he uses just a low pressure cycling switch in his harness unless told to leave the 3wire LS1 pressure switch. In order to make the LS1 function as stock...and integrate the LS1 3wire pressure switch and have fans kick on and idle bump up....if you are using the STOCK compressor (variable displacement) all you need to do is get a High Pressure line from a 96+ 2.2l S10 truck with manual air....it has a fitting for a sensor that is identical to the LS1 sensor already in line. So you just plug in the 3wire plug for the A/C sensor and it works fine...because you are using the stock Compressor. NOW....for those who do like BlackX and many others and dont want to notch the frame for A/C clearance...and use a Sanden 508 or other single wire compressor...things get a little different. You still want to retain the LS1 PCM control...you still need the 2.2l high side line and 3wire sensor for the A/C...BUT you also will need the 4.3l accumulator and cycling switch. What you do is your A/C request wire from inside the cab...you run into this cycling switch (low pressure switch on accumulator) then into the PCM. Then it cycles on and off like stock and no worries about the variable displacement garbage. So in essence it works like stock...fans turn on...everything is good. hope this helps any others.

Can anybody speak to this point. It is about time for me to start the swapping process so it would be good to know of any additional parts I need. Thanks

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

For the A/C, your looking for a relocator from Street & Performance. It was the $550 setup mentioned on the first post. Check the online Catalog on http://www.hotrodlane.cc/, page 91, Wide Style AC. Plus you'll need custom hoses and there may be other factors depending on which motor your pulling out.

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

So for any of you guys running a T-56, what flywheel/clutch combo are you running? I am considering either the Spec stage 2 and a billet flywheel or upping the ante and going all out on a Textralia setup. Anybody have opinions on their current combo likes/dislikes? Thanks in advance.

Re: ******PARTS LIST AND SWAP INFO FROM BLACK X****** LSX Swap.

i think black is the only 5.3/t56 right now
theres another one floating around but they paid for it to get done and they wont give you much info on the swap

not sure about the 2.2's (if any differnce) but apparently the lines off the 4.3/nv3550 will work for the t56

im doing a 5.3/t56 swap and if i run into such a problem ill post it

I thought Black X was running an AUTO on his 6.0?? Anyhoos I was thinking the same thing about the spec stage 2 but from what I hear your almost better off to run the stocker as the spec has marginal holding gains and if your only going up to 400 hp / 400 tq you will be just fine

You hit the nail on the head Circa. Mine can and will be a daily for some time but you gotta love having 6 speeds to tear through.

On a side bar I am expecting this motor to be at ~400+ hp and although I won' spray it from the get-go it is in my future plans so maybe I should consider the Spec 3. I don't think stock grabbing power is going to get it done with my truck. Thanks for the input guys
