No Tailights??

When i turn on my lights for like night driving i have no taillights. But when i hit the brakes the tail lights light up? Anyone know what could be wrong? I checked the plug on the driver side rear and its plugged in. Any other plugs that might not be plugged in?

So when my lights are on for night the tail lights dont light up, and the brake lights dont light up.
When the lights are off the brake lights do light up......

Engine swap is complete and i drove it around for about 10 minutes...all i can say is wow....

I had a freind with a similar problem. For him it turned out a loose plug in his harness.
