Need some advice on some suspension components
putting an L33 5.3 which is all aluminum in an 84 standard cab short bed, I have 2" drop spindles for the front and want to go with some 3" drop leafs in the rear. Any good suggestions on where to get the rear springs? Also for the front coil springs which ones work the best, i wouldnt mind a little stiffer ride because it should help it handle a little better. Went to NAPA today and they said that the ex. cab or the reg. cab with long bed both with ac have the highest spring rates. And other than LMC where can you get the coil spring insulators, i tried advanced auto parts and all they could get is the uppers.

Re: Need some advice on some suspension components
Belltech makes a 3 inch drop leaf but they cause wheel hop and I'm not sure if a slide-a-link traction bar will correct it or not, as for the isolators i'm only running uppers, energy suspension makes them.

Re: Need some advice on some suspension components
I'd get em off ebay and I know there are some 3" drop leafs on ebaymotors right now from belltech. Im goin to be getting a 3/4 or a 4/5 drop soon, and I'm looking to do 2" coils, 2" spindles up front and 2" blocks and 3" drop leafs out back from belltech with shocks. Its 450 bucks I think which for belltech components and shocks isn't to bad for what it is. Cal-trac makes a really nice slide-a-link type traction bar.

Re: Need some advice on some suspension components
Im running belltech 3" drop leafs and a 3" block and have no wheel hop issues. If you are only dropped 3" in the back you can get away with traction bars you wont be too low. You could also fab up your own traction bars by doing upper 4 link bars so that your axle can not wrap. As far as the front springs I would look in a jegs or summit and find some spring companies and give them a call. They will be able to make or sell you just what you need by the info you give them.

Re: Need some advice on some suspension components
picked up a set of front coils from napa they ran all the numbers and found out which ones had the highest spring rates, also went to summit and got some energy suspension isolators. I will have to take a look at them cal-trac traction bars, and as far as the belltech 3" drop springs I thought that they might cause axle wrap a little more than others because there is so few leafs in a pack.
