Need a crossmember picture from a LS1 swap
Mainly looking for pictures of the LS1 swap period. Would like someone to show me a picture of the crossmember as towhere they had to notch it. Thanks

Re: Need a crossmember picture from a LS1 swap
here you go. I've got pictures but only with the engine in using a ls2 oil pan not a 5.3 oil pan. I'm not sure which pan you are using so I made a quick picture showing what each notch cut looks like.

Re: Need a crossmember picture from a LS1 swap
If you have the top of the crossmember notched then yes it will fit. If you only have the back of the crossmember notched then I don't think so. The ls2 oil pan only needs the top of the crossmember notched about .5" The 5.3 oil pan needs the back of the crossmember notched usually 2".

Re: Need a crossmember picture from a LS1 swap
was there not room to just install the motor .5" higher? if its that close, i would think you could get away without cutting at all. have you compared the fitment of the CTSV pan?

the engine can't be any higher because the transmisson would hit the cab. plus you want to keep the CG down.

Re: Need a crossmember picture from a LS1 swap
I haven't got mine all the way in but I had to cut WAY more than that with the ls2 pan(almost all the way accross the top.Hopefully I'll have pics next week. Heres a link from tech, this is about what mine looks like. You can see how its cut all the way accross the top.

I've seen lots of people notch the frame different. On mine i notched to about the little hole in the middle of the crossmember. I'll have pictures this weekend once i get my digi back.
