Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

Worth every penny, Pro flow XT gives up way too much in the bottom end for me. Ill spend a little more and take my gains everywhere.

Im installing it sometime tonight, Its raining for the next few days so I wont have driving impressions for a bit.

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

Its a sheet metal intake (or tunnel ram) thats cast, by its very design it gives up low end for 5500+ RPM potential

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

For me on the SS it did 40+ more peak HP and the graph kept climbing straight up. It never feel off.

The peak TQ and low end TQ was exactly the same until about 4000ish when the TQ goes under the curve and in some places under the curve the fuggin intake made 15-20 more TQ.

Look for the graph right now for ya.

my 2 week old is telling me to stop swapping intakes 1/2 way through... but shes a great reason to buy this netbook!! haha...

edelbrock doesnt even have an l92 version of the pro flow, so it really doesnt matter.

no i didnt dyno it or take it to the track....been preparing for my daughters arrival

nope not going to sell the ls3 yet. then i couldnt compare on the dyno or at the track....

one hand typing sucks.....but holding her and talking with her is by far my fav thing to do.. shes getting sleeepy!!

Nice I like carbs but sometimes you just have to spend the money. A G is not that bad when you look at the overall power gain. Sweet

I wouldn't even put it on. I'd just get a glass case for it and keep it above the fireplace and sit in a Layzboy chair with a pipe in my mouth reading the paper and glancing at it from time to time.

What?

That thing looks badass on there, shame the coil cover covers up the 2 on the "102". But it's still totally wicked.

I would think either of those choices would help out alot with the topend on your new intake.

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

So are you runnin a full LS3 or an LS2 with LS3/L92 heads?

They came out with the LSXR like a month after I picked up my 90 mil combo lol. Its ok tho, I have no need for that much intake.

6.0L LQ9 shortblock with Lingenfelter CNC LS3 heads. The LSXR doesnt fit cathedral port heads, only LS3 or LS7. The 92mm is still the only cathedral port at this point. Well except for the 102mm LSXRT truck intake, which should be out soon.

It will be a while, my daughter isnt even a month old yet. I can tell you it feels better and show you the dyno results Ive found everywhere else that helped me decide to get it. Not to mention an unported FAST 92mm made 21rwhp on my truck before I swapped heads.

Spectacle Solutions: +15rwhp +15rwtq on a 100% stock 2010 camaro
Texas Speed: +15hp +16tq on a 580hp LS3 engine
Texas Speed#2: Had FasterProms (Jeremy F) port the LSXR and it lost all of it gains and even lost to the stock intake after porting.
Vengance : +12rwhp on a Vette

So im not porting mine!!

So the Truck 102mm LSXRT truck intake will work with the cathedral ports?

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

Not unless you get the truck version thats coming out soon. If you want a car version, you have to get the regular 92mm FAST LSX intake (in my sig pic). I gained 21rwhp from it.

LSX = Car w/ cathedral port
LSXR = Car w/ LS3 or LS7 port
LSXRT = Truck w/ cathedral port

Are the stock 317 heads from the trucks cathedral ports? Thats what i have. I thought about doing the car intake but i am kinda worried about having to rewire the injector plugs and what not

This I know lol. I bought a set of Patriot Stage II's that are cathedral port, then bought the 90 mil like a week later. I did all this cause I didnt know the LSXR was comin out and I was anxious for power lol. Had I known it was comin out I woulda gone L92 with the 102 mil.

Yes, 317s are cathedral port. You could run the 92mm (Car) LSX or the 102mm (truck) LSXRT intake thats coming out soon. If you have the truck acessories, I would wait for the truck intake to come out and see if it fits under your hood. You wont have to relocate your idler pulley. If you have Vette accessories, the 92mm is as good as it gets! I loved it on my old setup.

What injectors do you have? why do you think youd have to rewire them for an intake?

well i though the car injectors were different than the truck injectors? I have the stock injectors that came on the LQ4 from a 2004 silverado 2500.

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

They are different, are you changing injectors? Most likely youll have to depending on what your running since the stock truck injectors are only 19 or 22lb/hr (cant remember which) and are probably only good to 370ish HP.

Most Silverado guys upgrade a set of 8.1L injectors (30lbs/hr) or 8.1L Marine injectors (42lb/hr). These both have the same connector as yours stock ones.

Well congrats on the little girl. We just had our first, a boy, 5 months today. it's really slowed down progress but well worth it. Still getting parts in but not as quick as I'd like to.

Isn't the only difference the plug, and obviously the flow rate? Or, is the base different too?

Well i would need the car injectors if i went with the car intake wouldnt i? Thats what i thought was different. But the plugs for them are the same so i wouldnt have to change anything on the harness?

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

I think the truck injectors may work with the 92mm without an o-ring swap.

The 102mm one will need an oring swap on the lower injector orings, assuming its base is the same design as my LSXR. Since its for trucks that have that style injector Im sure they will throw them in or have them avaliablee at a small cost.

The 8.1L injectors have the same plug as your stock ones. There are exctly the same just more flow.

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

My little girl is 6 weeks old today!!! Shes starting to smile, sleeps through the night, and barely fusses.

I haven't driven the truck in about a month.... My truck has become incredibly non important. I could sell it at this point and it wouldnt hurt my feelings.

Re: My new intake; FAST LSXR 102mm

Never honestly thought about it. Ive driven it about 3000 miles total, and added tons of upgrades. Id probably have to get out of it at least what I bought the truck for my intial output of 16(which doesnt include my cost hot rod parts..CNC heads, LT headers, Cam, Intake, etc).

But I wasnt seriously concedering selling it, and most people wouldnt be willing to pay much.
