Hey... Did you know someone attached a toilet bowl to the top of your nice fuel injected engine?

Lol I know don't you just love it. I want those hard to start winter days. To my understanding a Carb will produce slightly better numbers. I looking for every ounce of power.

Re: My 1996 Sonoma A few pics-not finished
i doubt that.... its probably the combination of the intake manifold, and a big carb that produces the power... more than likely, an equal monetary amount of bolt ons would have done more.... it just takes away from having a technologically advanced motor if you ask me

Re: My 1996 Sonoma A few pics-not finished
I guess it would depend on what a person is trying to achieve. I have more friends with cheaper parts for carb applictions. 200 on a Carb, 385 on a intake, and 285 for the msd. Holley black pump free from a friend. 50 on misc fittings total around 1020.00. When I thought about doing efi I think the cost was close. Since I decided not to run a Turbo I figured I could save a little time and money by running a Carb. Not to mention I came across a 350 trans non electric and a 4000 converter for 300. So taking all things into consideration it did not have to be an efi setup.

Jarred could build you a harness and pcm for less than what you spent. Carb is not better than EFI for power... it's just easier and more simplified.
In my opinion, i dont see the point of a carb on an LSx. Why not just put in a small block? |

on a good note, i love the fuel cell. However, you'll learn to hate it come fillup time!!! climbing into the bed, just to realize you forgot to hit "NO" to carwash, and have to climb back out haha

2) Did he ask you? No again. He just posted a picture of his truck and seems to be getting hazed here. Last edited by The Stunningman : 10-13-2009 at 08:19 PM. |

Progress on your truck looks good man. Post up any other engine specs you want to. How much of a shot are you running.

Re: My 1996 Sonoma A few pics-not finished
What exactly are you saying here? $700+ for harness + $350 for a dyno tune would be over $1020 and he would still be running a stock truck intake if he had a LQ4 or LQ9. Then add all the other upgrades EFI guys love to do FAST or bigger TB etc. So he is ahead in that respect. The part in the bold is about the stupidest thing I have ever read. Re: My 1996 Sonoma A few pics-not finished
not to mention a stock intake with a 630 roller i don't think so. Did you forget the price of a computer, fuel system, mass air, throttle body, 40lb injectors, fuel rails, the price was way more than 1050 to be honest. It was more than double after you add it all up.
and the part about building a regular 23 degree headed sbc. do you know how stupid that sounded to compare a lsx 15 degree motor to 23 degree sbc. WOW anyway I don't think i have to climb in the cab at the pump it's not that bad. I thought so also until i had it all in place. now if I use a gas can I will have to. the cell is closer towards the drivers side. I would like to spray 100 or 150. I want to keep it small. I like all nuts but these motors just do so well with spray. Last edited by rundeep66 : 10-13-2009 at 10:06 PM. |

Nice truck man. Nice to see a ext cab swap. I actually like the carbed Ls's alot, the carb intakes just look sick and flows very well. Is that a GM intake?

The price of the msd was 289 or something like that. I know it wasn't you. Anyway we're all adults. If you have anymore questions pm me. |
