manual trans.for LS engine

I have a MY2 (hydramatic) 5 speed from a '94 4.3 s-10,would it work behind a LS engine or would I need to find a manual from a LS series engine?

Re: manual trans.for LS engine

It may be possible to physically bolt that tranny to an LS engine, but to do it you'll need to locate a bell housing made for that application. As it is the two won't bolt together. However, it won't live long behind an LS engine. The max HP that transmission can safely handle just isn't enough to survive even a 4.8 or 5.3 LS motor. My advice is definitely get a trans meant for and LS, like a T-56.
