Lsx S10 q's
I have a 98' S10 with a 4.3l 5 speed. I'm needing more horsepower and I'm debating doing a V8 swap. I want to keep the 5 speed trans and drop an Ls series motor in and keep it fuel injected. Any suggestions on what I should do? I've talk to a shop that retails an adapter for the 4.3l flywheel to bolt on to the Ls? My main problem is the trans and I'm not planning on using an auto tranny. Also will the 5 speed transmissions bell housing bolt up to an Ls?

Yea go the 6sp route because the NV3500 5 sp wont last long at all behind a V8

If you get the T56 you'll also need to modify the floor to make the shifter fit, new driveshaft, and modify your current crossmember or get a custom one.

Unless you baby the tranny a lot you might as well upgrade the trans. If you want to keep a 5 spd get one out of truck. You might be able to find a motor and trans combo complete and save some money and be able to sell yours.
