Re: LS6 TURBO Build begins!!!!!!!!

Nice!!! And you already have a 8.5 rear.... Looks like you did a clean install of the battery relocation with running the wires through the frame rail...

Re: LS6 TURBO Build begins!!!!!!!!

Very nice and clean truck..

Is that a Cal-trac traction bar you got there with a 3 inch drop block?

I can't wait to see how this installs under the truck, very nice man keep it up.

ohh another thing be very careful with those cinder blocks they are not made to hold weight that way.

they hold more weight with the hole facing the floor and up the way they go in the wall, then just put a piece of 2x8 wood on top and you'd be ok.

the oil return setup is from sts turbo. thats how they do most of there oil return lines. it makes it easier than tapping into the oil pan. it just goes straight into the top of the motor. quit disconnect to add more oil.

Nice project.

I'd recommend rotating the U-Clamps so the bolts aren't pointing down, or at least shortening them. Wouldn't be nice if you hit some road debris.

Re: LS6 TURBO Build begins!!!!!!!!

hydrolocking from Meth... that's a new one!
Setup looks great though.
How did you run your charge pipes from the turbo back into the engine bay? i see them go past the driveshaft, and looks like in front of the gas tank... but then where to?

Re: LS6 TURBO Build begins!!!!!!!!

ya something went wrong with the controller and it started pumping wide open before i cranked it up. well i started working on it today almost got the motor out.

turbobandit, the intake pipe comes over the drive shaft and along the driver side and rite on top of the frame rail beside the motor, ill get u a pic. it took alot of work to do it but i still wanted me A/C man. this truck is one of a kind with A/C. the turbo gave it some godly power. u just have to ride in it to see.

Well, not really. Do some searching on BlackX's truck. I'm pretty sure he was the original rear mount turbo LSx. I think Turbobandit is running pretty close to the same setup. Seems like everyone and their cousin is gettin a turbo these days.......

I do have to agree with you though, It's hard to explain the way a turbo LSx pulls. I love watching the perminant grin on my friends faces after they ride with me.

EDIT: I really like your setup BTW, I came real close to going that same route myself.

Re: LS6 TURBO Build begins!!!!!!!!

this is the second truck recently ive seen hydrolock on the meth. Interesting problem. The comments I saw on the other one was perhaps low voltage while working on the truck caused some confusion in the meth controller so it just started squirting when the truck was not running and then upon start up, whammy.... very sorry to see it, good luck getting it rolling again.

Nice truck.

Just and idea....Install a lead to the power wire of the pump and bring it back to a light on the dash. When the pump's on, the light is on.

I would recommend going back and removing each one of these "crimps". They will fail over time. They aren't protected from water.

They are an electrical "fault", waiting to happen.

its not to hard untill you have to pull the motor out, then its alot of work and time.

Give us a rundown on your current setup if it's different from before. Stock or performance rebuild, cam, boost, ect. Also wondering what your 60 ft. times were.

Re: LS6 TURBO Build begins!!!!!!!!

the intake pipe runs along the bottom on the drivers side. its hard to run but you have to have the rite bends, first dyno was at 460hp on 6psi. being that its 10:1 compression, we made some tunning changes and i have it a 10psi but havent put it backon the dyno yet. its going to be close to 600hp at the fly wheel. we did i negative run and it looses 90hp from motor to the tires. its auto tranny with 2300 stall.
