LS2 t-stat housing on LS1 water pump...

okay guys so i made the mistake of buy a 160 tstat for my truck, but it turns out it doesn't fit the ls1 tstat...if i were to buy the housing for the LS2 tstat do u guys think it would work on the ls1 water pump???thanx

I cant recall if the water pump or the elbow has the machined part the tstat sits in, but it is a possiblity.
