LS1 swap complete!!! Small burnout Vid.

Just got her on the road and thought i should test it out a little bit.

The truck is un-tuned for now but I have HP tuners and am working on tuning it now.

Runs fairly well with the cam on the stock program.

http://videos.streetfire.net/video/6...1EE1C68E14.htm

Please give me your opinions.

Re: LS1 swap complete!!! Small burnout Vid.

WOW, very nice and clean conversion. Would you happen to have more pics of the conversion process and how you went about it? Just would like to see. Main thing, WHAT did you do for exhaust because it sounds perfect! Would like to know at least how the exhaust is done, it has the "right" sound man. OR, the video............ does it maybe NOT have exhaust on it? Well done.

2.5" Manderal bent Y-pipe into a 3.5" single pipe through a dynomax bullet and a flowmaster 40 Series race. Side exit right before the rear tire

Yeah it runs ok, but the rev limiter is still stock 5800 and will be 6600Rpm.

Hmmm, Bullet and a 40 series eh? Where is all this placed/routed if you don't mind me asking? Dunno what state you're in but do you have Cats on it or not? I have to run Cats here in Missouri.

I can't view the video right now but I like the A/C up high was that a custom or from a shop. Mine doesn't have the A/C but then I didn't want it to begin with. I'll post again once I can watch the video. I also want to see more photos

Re: LS1 swap complete!!! Small burnout Vid.

black x nice truck, I'm jealous. just wondering did you upgrade your rod bolt's in the bottom end? U would want to do that before you rev to 6600 rpm just incase. they have been known to have some issuies over 6k with stock rod bolt's.

Agreed on the camera guy, tell him to stay still!

Either way, very nice. BTW I looked at HP Tuners before, looks like an awesome program as well, you should have some fun tinkering around with that. What kind of power numbers are you expecting with the work you have done to it?

Nice vid. Any plans for a turbo in the future? I see the NOS lines on there. Played with that yet?

Dont get DSL, get a cable modem. DSL's are painfully slow!

Re: LS1 swap complete!!! Small burnout Vid.

I have cable, but...
Thats a bit of a sterotype put into your head by cable propaganda.
It all depends on the tranfer rates available. Both have advantages/disadvantages.

Nice work on the swap!

Watch out on too many 6600runs, the valvesprings are not designed to go past 6000...I have found that shifting at 6000 yeilds the best results. It does not make any more power past that...in fact, it LOSES power. Just my 2 cents....BAD AZZ truck man!

The Rod bolts are ARP, the cam is deffinatly capable of 6600rpm and the springs are Comp 918's i can assure you it will pull all the way there.

Motor might be capable of it but from reading your cam specs on the other thread no way will it make power past 6200 rpm. I have a 224/224 on a 114 LSA on basically a Comp XR lobe and I'm peaking right around 6300 or so. No advance ground into the cam. The intake manifold isn't gonna let you pull past that. Even the big 422 strokers with a LS6 intake peak around 6200 rpm or so, they just flatline to 6500 or so. 6600 is a good rev limiter but I would honestly once you get it on the dyno and get a good idea of what the powerband is. I can pretty much guess though that you want it to shift around 6300-6350 or so.

Re: LS1 swap complete!!! Small burnout Vid.

Rev limiter will be 6600rpm. shift points more like 6400 or so. It will depend on where it pulls too. I am shifting at 6300 now and its still pulling hard.

Wow, thanks a lot. I actually though my 4.3 with flowmasters sounded good until I saw that video. Unbelievable man.
