LS1 or ATI Procharger...

I've seen several LS1 tranny and all for 3-4k.... and on the other hand the mach ATI kit is 4k+....

with the ls1 base line... I would be where I would be with the ATI... with no where else to go...

I've got several buddies that could do the ls1 swap for pretty cheap.. I guess I'm asking what is the most cost effective HP gain...

oh yeah... 2003 4.3l 5sp....

would a ls1 6spd pop right up in my stock shifter location?!

I think the LS1 is gonna be a little faster than the ati Plus make better power throught the rpm range.

Yeah definitely stick with the LS1. That is the better way to go. But no the 6-speed will not pop up through the stock shifter location. It will be about where your 2nd cup holder is. You have to cut the console if you have buckets. If you have a bench you need to get buckets.

Re: LS1 or ATI Procharger...

LS1 deffinetely. Hopefully you know what your getting yourself into though. Not an easy or cheap swap where the ATI for the most part is a bolt on instalation. The T56 is longer then your T5 so like Dan said the shifter will be moved back towards the seat a few inches.

has any one done a clean install with the t56? if not... I'm not interested... want it to look like nice and all... or are some folks stick with the t5? would need to change out some gears... cause I used to own an lt1... and it'll get up there quick!

Re: LS1 or ATI Procharger...

My friend has done (2) Gen3 and T56 swaps. Both are very clean swaps.

I plan on doing a Ls1 or RamJet 350 with a T56 with I get out Wyotech.
