LS1 on airride?

I've seen a couple threads on the LS1 swap, but has anybody done an LS1 swap on an S10 with airride? I'm just thinking about some possible ideas for a start on a project. My goal would be to ATLEAST be laying frame with the LS1. Any feedback, pictures, or links would be awesome!

Yes, you can do an LS1 swap with bags.

Re: LS1 on airride?

Thats what I am planning to do in the future.BUt bags can handle torque and horse power. I have seen that people have a nitrogen tank to supply air for the bags. And I was reading some where where a guy who builds old muscle cars laying frame on air and have 1000 hp +.You have to take time to build them.

Re: LS1 on airride?

yea, the only problem i might see is that you could have clearence problems with the oil pan or headers hitting the ground, otherwise you should be fine.

Re: LS1 on airride?

I thought about the oil pan and headers. I'll have to address that when I get to it I suppose. I'm not really thinking of some crazy muscle truck, just a slick V8 s10 that will lay frame, so that's why I thought about bags and not coilovers or anything of that nature.

Re: LS1 on airride?

There are a lot of trucks with v8s that lay frame...... if you do a small block there really arent very many issues about clearance, everyones swap goes different.....check the project forum there are a couple that are always floating through

Re: LS1 on airride?

Yeah, with my first gen as low in the engine bay as it'll go the oilpan is a few hairs above the crossmember. Exhaust isn't in, yet, but I don't intend to bag this ehicle, at least not for some time to come. I don't see the exhaust being an issue with shorties, though.

Re: LS1 on airride?

well if you want a late model v8 s-10 go with the ls1 swap, that has a chance of passing emmisions test and has better milage, with better streetablity than its carb counterparts, its lighter too. A carb v8 in a late model s-10 wont even come close to passing a emmissions test. Not to mention most of your carb v8s dont get over 20mpg efficiency.
