LS1 oil sending unit

I think my oil sending unit may be bad on my ls1. I am getting fluctuating oil pressures. I had a harness made by current performance and i had to use the sending unit off of the 4.3. I used an adapter to put it because the threads on the unit and in the engine block are not the same. I was wondering if having the sending unit spaced out a bit from stock would cause this to happen??

mine uses and adapter and it works fine. I even used teplon tape to make sure it sealed good. Did you happen to change the pan on your motor...and change the pickup tube. If so you might have damaged the O-ring on the pickup which causes funny oil pressure issues.

I did change the pan and pickup tube. I really do not want to pull the motor out to check!!! I also have some check engine light issues that i have to scan before i start pulling stuff apart.
