LQ9 questions

I have a brand new LQ9 i can buy for $800-900, aluminum heads, pan and clean! but my boss said id need a computer and throttle and manifolds that would run me about $1700. its from a truck with little to no miles. 6.0 364ci?

what would it take to put this in my 2003 s10 auto with a 2.2?

my dads 1988 2500 has a 350 with an auto tranny, both were rebuilt about 30,000 miles ago and if the truck dies were putting that motor in my s10.

hes also got a 320hp cadilac v6 engine..

Re: LQ9 questions

lsx motors r not cheap when you start modding them. you can go carb, but those intakes cost 4-500 alone and than you have to run a frt mounted dist that can cost a grand.

best thing to do is find a wrecked truck and get what you need. that would be the cheapest.

remember the lsx has a diff trans bolt pattern than the usual sbc

Re: LQ9 questions

Lq9 you can run any LS intake you can get a truck intake and a drive by cable throttle body and you might want to get headers for the swap makes a better fit and a set of efans, pullleys, i would go with a 4l60 out of a LS1 or ls2 car or a pickup. the oild pan might not fit either. check out the LSX section for more info.

FYI: You wouldn't have to use a front mount distributor you could use a controller if goin carb.
