Re: I'm calling her Mia

been too lazy to take pics, nothing too special though, de-dropped the blazer and started cleaning it up to sell it, and worked on the house.

-put the front suspention together with 2in beltech springs and blazer spindles.
-drilled, tapped, and installed new mounts, brp's mounts are way too much for a non bolt in item, but they sid they fixed them after I told them that.
-cleaned and painted front and rear calipers
-installed new bearings and seals in rear end, need to weld on the spring pads still, might get moser axles instead of the stockers.

I went to put the engine and tranny in for the last time so that I could install the new headers, do the wiring, and all the other final crap and found out my tq converter didn't fit. I called up fuddle and they said to send it in and they would take care of it. since then I've had a really hard time getting ahold of him. I thing I might have the old style 4l60e. so now I am waiting on that to get everything in and finish this bitch up. also waiting on my new trans x member and traction bars.

the t/c was too long to fit, anyone know some possible causes? I still have my 2500 that fits just fine, so if all else fails i'll just reuse that, but I would rather have the 3000 with the smaller housing.

if I keep having to wait for shit i'll just find time to put the blazer tank in.

Re: I'm calling her Mia

updates!

after many hiccups and frustrations I have come to more hiccups and frustrations.

I got a crapload of parts in, and picked some stuff up from the local hotrod shop.
headers

tq converter, long story short my other one was jacked up, John at fuddle hooked me up with this beast. I highly recommend working with these guys! this will take more power then I will ever make.

new overflow

got my axles drilled with new arp studs

I got my new tranny x-member and traction bars from Diabolical performance! Mike is awsome, the x member was a perfect fit and the bars are beefy as hell!
(its him in the pics not me)
http://www.s10racer.com/board/pictur...&pictureid=541
http://www.s10racer.com/board/pictur...&pictureid=540
http://www.s10racer.com/board/pictur...&pictureid=534

I got a TON of other parts in but i'll update that later when my computer gets fixed, now onto the important stuff.
My garage looks like this right now.... how does a small truck take up a 2 car garage from wall to wall?

energy suspension bushings and end links installed with the extreme swaybar.

the blazer brakes didn't like my wheels so I picked up some half in spacers from the local rod shop and some longer studs. I picked up some upper controll arms from speedway motors with some new ball joints. belltech 2in drop springs and drop shocks. New ceramic pads are installed in the blazer brakes.

ripped out old tank and made room for my blazer tank. I have a walbro 255 that will be added to the blazer tank before it is installed. oh and I love my new sawsall!

I turned my ford green top injectors(42lb) into black tops, cleaned up my intake and painted to match the engine block, cleaned up the fuel rail, cleaned up the last of my accessories and finally got my engine in its final resting place. installed my new ac box, installed 4.3 throttle cable and installed my pedal. I set the motor too far back and had to elongate the holes in the mounts to move it forward enough to clear the ac box. I talked to brp and they designed new mounts that bolt into the stock frame holes so this wont be an issue for anyone else.

installed tranny x-member and heat matted where my cats and headers will be run. tranny member fits great! I have enough room for 4 inch duals under here!

Hopefully I will have more updates soon. I will be on TDY for 2 weeks, hopefully I will get my rear set up before I leave but i'm not crossing my fingers. I hade some slight fitment issues with the headers that I will be calling headman about, but I will be making these ones work with some steering shaft modification.

Want to make a trade? I have new Aeromotive A1000 with fittings, brand new and never used, I got laid off so the project change and need to get it running rather than getting full hp/tq out of the motor. I would ask for some cash along with this but not a lot and it's still cheaper than buying new one. I'll deliver them to you wherever you want to, at your neighborhood or halfway, I don't care.

Excuse me, sir. Seeing as how the V.P. is such a V.I.P., shouldn't we keep the P.C. on the Q.T.? 'Cause if it leaks to the V.C. he could end up M.I.A., and then we'd all be put out in K.P.

POG? Petro, you combat arms? Only combat arms would refer to other soldiers as POGs. If you are combat arms, I have a new found respect for you.

Re: I'm calling her Mia

here she is with a new belt routed for the car style intake. if you do it like this you will need a spacer about 3/4 inches thick or a ton of washers, a longer bolt, and a belt that is 102 inches long to 102.5 inches long, any shorter or longer and it wont work. it took me 4 belts to find that out. 100 and 101 were both too short, and a 102.7 fit but didn't have enough tension on it.

did anyone notice my detail work on the alt bracket?

just waiting for my welder now, scheduled delivery is tuesday

Re: I'm calling her Mia

Got my welder in today, A lincoln 180amp/230v wire feed/mig. i'm getting argon, a cart, and a good mask this weekend, and a spool gun for aluminum welding after Mia is running:secret:
not gonna have much to update till the end of the weekend because I'm tiling my house fryday and saturday. i'll have a little bit of time on sunday but I dont know how much, having an early dinner with my family for my birthday(more welding stuff!)

my buddy started working on his 69 camaro, its going to be a driving project once he gets the back window in. 63xxx original miles on it, but its going to be a street rod. were going to turn it into a 396 clone with a little twist. since the 396 in 69 was actually a 402 were going to stroke a lq4/lq9 to a 402:cool4:. only has rust on the right rear fender!
