Re: I'm calling her Mia
thanks guys, picked up another 373 posi rear today but this one has disc brakes. i'll be robbing the short axle and the brakes from it for the one that I put in the shop this morning. also got my shocks in for my drop, and a bunch of cleaning supplies.

Re: I'm calling her Mia
long overdue update
engine mock up, it was a beautiful sight ![]() got in my headers from headman, long story short I got the long tubes cause the mids weren't done yet. they fit great even let you turn pretty well, unless you want ac. since this is my daily i'll be getting the mids from them intstead. oh and you would need to mod your trans cross member to clear the collectors. ![]() ![]() I test fit all the ones on the driver side just don't have pics, you will need to mod your brake lines, it wouldn't be difficult especially compared to the rest of this headache. oh and in case anyone needed to know jareds cooling setup fits just fine with truck acc. I was pretty worried about those big fans but there is still a bit of clearance. ![]() ![]() this last pic gave me some motivation, too bad I have to take it all back out. notch a hair more out of the ac notch, don't need to but it will make me more comfortable. weld it up, bolt in mounts, and put on oil pan. then it will go back in for good. I have some time tomorrow and most of saturday to work on this. sunday I'm going to firebird raceway! Last edited by AmericanMuscle : 02-27-2009 at 01:09 AM. |

Re: I'm calling her Mia
Looks good. I may have missed it, but are you planning to clean up the frame and suspension at all while it's apart? With all that detail work you've put into the engine it would take the project that much further. Keep up the good work. I'm curious to see how the midlength headers perform.

Re: I'm calling her Mia
I knew shit wasn't going to be right, I put it all in for mockup this time, the ac notch is still open and the mounts arent even bolted in. I had seen a few of you guys put it in thinking you were done and having to redo it, so I did a mock up install first. |

Re: I'm calling her Mia
I had the cops called on me tonight, I almost feel like a dick since I was grinding off my bumpstops at 11:30pm, but all they would have had to do was ask me to quiet down and I would have cleaned up. I mean really, why not? I would have stopped when they asked and cops really do have better shit to do. The cop was cool, and he came when I was done and cleaning up. when he left I was really tempted to break out my blackcats bottle rockets, but I didn't want to be a dick to my other neighbors.

Re: I'm calling her Mia
How much clearance between the header/frame do those longtubes have on the passenger side? Just curious because it doesn't look like much.

she's slowly coming along
well I got a few things done
got my oil pan and pickup tube. I didn't want to renotch the frame, and I didn't want to run a truck pan since I'm dropping her. I broke down and got the lh8 pan(h3a), and now I'm a little more broke. brp has this nifty little thing for a little insurance for sealing to the oil pump. ![]() ![]() ![]() finally got jareds(currentperformance) cooling setup installed, dont follow the directions, just test fit it and the make your cuts for the mounts. looks great in there though. ![]() I worked and painted and shaved my truck intake, and then I picked this up for a steal. ![]() ls6 intake with ported ls1 throttle body. rails and injectors on the way. still need a waterpump, and the ias and tps for the dbc trottle body, but at least I wont need to wire in the new pedal. more to come soon, spring break is in a week, I'm taking a day or 2 off work and getting this thing in so my roomate can finish up my wiring. Re: I'm calling her Mia
Lookin great! The engine looks super clean, love what you did with the intake manifold/valve covers. How do you like the fans/radiator from CP? Can you still use the stock condenser in the factory location?
I just realized you live in Tucson..lol. We will definitely have to meet up sometime. |

Just curious as to why you changed the control arms? I thought they were the same from the trucks to blazers. |
