Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3 oil pan

Check out the new oil pan on the Hummer H3 Alpha. This may offer additional opportunities in the LSx conversion arena, expecially 4x4 and Bravada.

The pan has better baffling that retains the same capacity as the standard 5.3 pan.

The exhaust manifolds appear to be more "tucked" in at the flange, at least on the drivers side.

Although not shown in this picture, the catalytic converters are close-fit to the exhaust manifolds in this application.

I'll get the P/N and pricing next week.

Re: Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3 oil pan

Anyone work at a GM plant or similar facility that could get the part number for that oil pan? I'll be the guinea pig and try this pan on my current 6.0L, 4x4 conversion. So far this looks to be the most promising pan out there for a 4wd.

Re: Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3 oil pan

Guys, I had a nice conversation with the Sewell Hummer parts guy yesterday. Even though I was standing right there when he looked up the numbers, he had no explanation why he gave me those numbers. Even though I had a VIN from an H3 Alpha with a 5.3 that he was looking up.

Re: Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3 oil pan

aight bishes heres some pics of a 2wd setup. DO not hold me responsible for fitment on your truck. This is Ls1 mounts from s10v8, 2.8 frame mounts. To me this looks like a great pan for the swap.

This is how low it is under the frame so if you want to lay frame not a great plan but if your just doing a static drop you will be fine.

also GM IS coming out with a 5.3 rado this year, so there will be a pan for that too, just another route to think about, it might use the same pan, but probably will be different

That bottom pic shows it, If I was to guess high, an inch. Its a good pan I think eliminates cutting. Plenty of clearence. It will be about a month before I test it on a 4x4. Yea I know its rough having two s10's both getting 6.0s

Re: Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3 oil pan

thats kinda what i figured. GM at this time is doing ZERO promotion of these trucks!!! Nothing in the brochure, nothing on their website, only in SI, on the Tech 2 it shows a v8, and parts computers are showing parts. WTF??? GM acts all super secret about their shit then wants to "surprise" everyone, they need to be pushing this, letting people know whats coming, i REALLY would like to see a crew cab ZQ8 or Xtreme rado with a 5.3, NASTY. but in bad news, this motor will not be available in reg cabs, at least not for now.

163 to my door step with pan, tube, indicator, pickup.

Comparing the LS2 pan and this pan, the ls2 pan can eat a fat one. Unless you want to lay frame. ls2 pan is more spendy and more cutting.

Re: Hummer H3 Alpha 5.3 oil pan

i have to drive a colorado everyday for work. but for some weird reason i am having some dead battery issues with with. everything is turned off. had a abs fault code come up on it and yesterday the whole day it had the engine light on it. started it up this morning and the engine light is off. it has 43k on it now. other then that it runs pretty good.

on another note. i wish i would known about this pan before i spent 300.00 for the ls2 pan i got. the extra 140.00 i could spent on the fuel pump and some other stuff. nice to know about it now. i have a 14 year old that wants a s10 short bed truck with a v8 in it.
