How much would you pay? (Oil Pan)

How much would you pay for an OEM based LSX oil pan, direct bolt on for S10/LSX swaps, which would be compatible to use with even body dropped trucks, retain normal oil capacity and includes a custom billet oil filter relocation adapter (so you dont crush or drag through your fliter).

All you would need to supply/make would be a pair of braided steel AN lines. Since everones trucks are different, it would be hard to supply premade lines for different filter mounting locations.

one thats already works with bagged trucks or normal stock ones? to my knowledge, there is no stock OEM pan that would accomplish the task above which is why I planned on making one. I have one to prototype with, not sure if Id need anymore or not, I didn't think anyone out there made one since its not listed anywhere on this site, but if I do need something Ill definately let you know.

correct, you asked what i'd pay and i told you, it doesnt bother me to notch the frame for the other one, so i wouldnt really pay alot more, but it would be a nice thing for alot of people, i think you'd have a fairly good market for them if they were reasonably priced

ls2 pan workes great....so anything much more than the cost of that, probably wont be a good thing...the h2 pan is a bolt in ,but not for bagged trucks or road graders....

Well, It depends, Are you modding stock pans or completely fabbing up new ones?

If you are modding stock pans, I would say, "send me your old pan and $100". For a new fabbed pan I wouldn't expect to get much more than an new pan from GM.

Re: How much would you pay? (Oil Pan)

in all honesty, A good fabbed oil pan I would easy pay 300+

stock gm pan yea 165+ key word being stock

but with a fabbed pan I would expect a good baffle set up and use the factory windage tray (is it tray or screen?)

But I also dont see the real need for a remote mount filter. if using a ls2 vette pan and notching the x-member you can run a factory filter and still lay it out.

I know I have spent more for less over the years.

Good work is not cheap, cheap work is not good!

but what do I know..lol

Re: How much would you pay? (Oil Pan)

i would pay 250-300 for a pan that held 6 quarts just like the factory pans, remote mount isnt neccessary but a ok feature, im not a big fan of sheet metal pans though, unless it is very clean when finished, and also if im going to spend that kind of money i dont want to have to cut anything, i want to bolt it on, drop the motor in, and clear everything without a problem. other wise i would pay 165 and do a little cutting and welding.

note taken. It didnt look like the oil filter would hit after looking at the Vette pan pics, but I wasnt 100% sure. If thats the case, then it would certainly keep the cost down.
