help with ls1 swap

i want to put a ls1 in my s10 but i need some question answered. if anybody has done it how much did the spend? is there a lot of fabrication? what will i have to reinforce? and i have some other just cant think of them. thanks alot for all the help.

ive heard a number of people on here say that a ls driveline swap costs around 10k

search, theres TONS of threads on the subject

To the OP I would read Phil's entire thread. And not just read it I mean thoroughly and take a look at what the engine looks like in the bay of an S10. Phil's thread is amazing and he put a ton of time into it and it's kind of a kick in the nuts if no one reads it and just posts questions like these.

I'm just saying though.

ive spent about 2500 and just a live tune. lsx with a th350 stalled. budget is best but expect a long period of time lookin for parts at a good deal rather then paying full price.

good point, as with anything else, it all depends on how much of a rush you're in... if you want the truck done right away it will cost more, if you have the time to wait around for deals to find you then you can save quite a bit

i'm over 10k in mine but I made a budget and but it didn't last long i'm gonna wear my bolts out taking the engine in and out trying to get it how i 'want it but thats why its a project
