Header Coatings
Several of you recommended coated shorty headers.CPW sells Sanderson shorties, how well are they coated on the inside of the tube? Got a price of
$320 to coat a set of shorty headers from JETHOT,that is for inside and outside using their EXTREME coating thats supposed to be 400 degrees cooler.Standard silver coating is supposed to be 200 degrees cooler.Has any- one had their coated headers long enough for the coating to start degrading. JETHOT has a 3year guarantee on their coating. |

Re: Header Coatings
I had my headers done about 1 1/2 years ago by a local shop for $150 and they still look the same. They are only 2.8 v6 headers tho.

Re: Header Coatings
Most any local powder coating service offers ceramic coatings, use a phone book.
If your headers are old a rust covered expect a cleaning fee. Mine were new with only a few scratches from test fitting and shipping when I carried them up there. Last edited by neo71665 : 09-14-2009 at 08:50 PM. |

Re: Header Coatings
That looks like that cheap DIY paint crap they sale at part stores. If you had it done they ripped you a new one.
The company that did mine done a 1 year warranty on them thats long gone now but they still look good. |

Re: Header Coatings
all i can tell you is don't get them coated from CPW with the 2000 deg coating i got my headers in a silver 2000 deg coating and then i get them open the box open them up then i notice a orange letter in the bottom it said to not touch the headers until they have been on the motor and ran for like 30 mins or something well come to find out from a local shop High Performance Coatings that the coating wasn't cured and thats why they said that. Its got a little rust on it and it hasn't even been ran yet... But they said they would do that nice chrome silver ceramic coating for $195 and it would take 5-7 business days

Re: Header Coatings
I'm far from being a grammar nazi but may I suggest at least using commas and periods when you type. |
