Got a roll cage installed

I'll get better pictures when my USB cable comes in for my digi cam. My buddy used to work at murf mckinney building chassis for NHRA funny cars and we were talking a couple months back about doing a cage well this is what he came up with.

Re: Got a roll cage installed

Looks pretty dang good man. Do the rear angled support bars need to be tied into the top of the roll cage? I always see the reg cab s10's at the track with two support bars going out the back window. I don't have a need for a cage i my truck since its pretty slow but if I were to do it, I would want it hidden if possible like you did.

Re: Got a roll cage installed

It wont ever be NHRA Certified like I have it, but it should strengthen up the chassis

Yeah to be certified it needs to come off the highest point of the cage, most tracks around here dont get to detailed into tech inspections, I'm not building the truck to run in any classes just building a street rod

Re: Got a roll cage installed

yea i was about to ask if it was legal for the fatchick bars to have 2 bends in them.. . but then i saw your comment about not worrying about passing tech. looks good though! are you going to put in a halo and a-pillar bars?

I'm not planning on adding anymore cage, if for some reason I would ever run so fast I'd have to add cage I will but my goal for this truck isn't any ridiculous amount of power, just building a nice lil street truck with a decent amount of power
