getting new trans, stall, and gears
I finally saved up for the next upgrade on my LSX project. I have 5.3L with PRC stage 2.5 5.3L heads, TSP 224R cam, th400 trans, 2500 stall, and stock 7.5 rearend and stock gears. Im wanting to get a 700r4 built with 3500 stall and shift kit, and get 373 gears put in the 7.5 with locker. Has anyone ran this set up or have any opinions or pointers before I start ordering?

Re: getting new trans, stall, and gears
My guess is this is a 1st gen, and a carbed setup. Probably just wants to use 12v for the od. Much easier to run than a 4l60e.

Re: getting new trans, stall, and gears
This is a 1st gen with LS1 intake and i had the 700r4 available so im using it instead of 4l60e. I took the truck to the shop today to have 373s and a locker put in the 7.5 stock rearend. I dont plan on running this truck on the track or running slicks so i was told the 3500 stall would be way to big. the truck is fun to cruise in now but i want a stronger low end. would a 2800-3000 stall be better for me than a 3500?

Re: getting new trans, stall, and gears
I havent posted in a while....but since having the 373s installed the trunk has been running great but Im wanting to change transmissions. My 700r4 is built and ready to be installed, is the stall for the th400 interchangeable with a 700r4?

Do you have any idle clips maybe?

Re: getting new trans, stall, and gears
I would suggest ditching the 700r4 and go with the 4l60e since it is the proper generation transmission for the engine. They were made to work together plus you have alot of good options for a converter.
