gears??

hello i have a 5. s10 with 5.3 and 4.10's im installing a 3400 converter(thanks for the advice black x)but thought about installing 3.73 or 3.42 the truck seems to run good but it does have spray and it pretty well runs out of gear in the 1/4 now on motor also the truck seems to bog when shifting into second do you think a converter will help this it seems like when it shifts from 1st to 2nd it drops the rpm's out of it's power range i dont know what to do any help app. thanx!!!

I have a 5.3 with 4.10s and a yank 3600 converter. The converter will take care of the bog when it shifts. I am going to go with the 3.42s, but I am looking for fuel milage not for going to the track.

The 3.73s would get you down the track faster, and the 3.42s would get you better fuel economy. Either way, the 3400 stall will help out a lot. Just make your decision based on whats more important to you. I don't know if this truck is a daily or whether its a track vehicle so it's hard to really make a suggestion.

somewhat daily driven and raced alot !!!i hope it cures the second gear bog its so bad!!!

The converter will help your rpm drop, called shift extension in the converter world. You will notice a huge difference with the 3400.

I would test your new converter with the 4.10's before you make your final decision on gear.

What tires are you running?

245/50/16 grag radials.....will i see any kind of hp gains whatsoever w/ lighter converter??
