Gauging interest - Overflow tank

So I put together a truck here to tinker with, and What we have always done in the past is cut the original tank, and epoxy a plate on it to seal it so it clears the high mount A/C.

Since this isn't a customer's truck, I had some time to work on some other ideas. So we made this aluminum overflow that clears the high mount compressor, it has tabs to hold the computer bracket in place, and bolts to the fender like factory. It holds about 3/4 of a gallon.

We are thinking a price of around $175, but I wanted to see what you guys think. This was the first version, and it uses the stock hoses from the stock overflow too.

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

I like it! OEM bolt in application!? awesome.

The only thing i'd think of adding would be a level indicator on the side (like the catch can's have)

But that would push the price up huh?

Looks good jared!

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

it would be really nice if we could get a polished tank and computer combo, or a black option

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

The cap was originally anodized black and said moroso on it, so we sandblasted it off. For any further tanks, we will get a plain cap. This one was something we could get quick.

I am going to see how much to have the tank powder coated also. That was another thought we had.

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

Don't know, this was the first, we will see about a second.
May make a few changes, still working on the price exactly, but I think we can stick to around $175... I hope.

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

Price is $50 to high IMO but looks and functions great none the less. Good luck on the new product. I wish you would re-release the long tube headers....now there's an item you could demand any price for.

it is a little pricey, but the quality of the parts that Jared sells is worth the cost

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

I would rock one for my truck for sure. It'll make it that much easier to pull the trigger on the high A/C system. Good work man.

Idea ! Make on for a first gen that accepts the pcm/bracket like the 2 gens. I might buy one then if it looks purdy(southern for "pretty")

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

You can also buy a can of spray on bedliner . It works good after 3 coats or so. Makes it look like plastic. But grind all the welds down first.

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

Personally I think the price is too high like posted above. Good product probably but the times the way they are, people would probably go to Autozone and get some cheap one or take one from a scrapyard. Don't get me wrong though, you cannot put a price on OEM fitting aftermarket parts. If I had an LS engine with your AC setup, I'd probably buy one.

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

I looked around Summit and Jegs, and saw similar tanks made for Mustangs and stuff ranging from $150 to $300, so I think the pricing is reasonable after talking my sheetmetal guy out of wanting to go with the $300 side.

I didn't think about the square body trucks, I will look in to that next.

Well hey that explains the price then. Are you guys going to premake them or take orders and make them by the order?

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

I guess I could make the price $250, and say there is a s10forum special at $175.

Re: Gauging interest - Overflow tank

I think we are ready to start taking orders.
I just ordered the caps for my welder, once they are in, we can get some finished up.
If you want to call, email, or PM with your info, I can get you down for 1.
Also, let me know if you want it powdercoated or not.

I'm sure they can, I didn't ask about that. But you can take the case of the PCM and do whatever you wanted with it.
