Fuel Pump Problem

i have 86 blazer. when i turn key on i hear the fuel pump prime but it never gets fuel to the regulator at engine. i can hear a gurgling noise at tank. any ideas? pump bad? i put 3 gallons in it so it should have plenty to get to engine.

Is it the stock pump and stock wiring harness to the pump?

Re: Fuel Pump Problem

I dunno, did you try taking the cap off? Maybe the vent could be clogged or something?

BTW I see in your avatar you are carbed, do you have a return style regulator?

Re: Fuel Pump Problem

Sounds like your fuel pump came loose from the sender or the hose connecting them split.

Re: Fuel Pump Problem

you think it would need more than 3 gallons to prime?

Re: Fuel Pump Problem

Man I agree with above loose sending hose . Hey maybe try venting off air from the fuel rails it might help (that sometime happens on our aircraft then boom fuel spray with a lot of smoke)... lol ill stayed tuned to see what was the culprit.
good luck
