Fire In The Hole

well the first attempt to start it wasn't a complete failure, at least it tried to run. It only fires momentarily as soon as turning the key but won't fire after that

stock sized injectors?

Try unplugging your TPS and restart it.

MAF plugged in?

Re: Fire In The Hole

Sounds like the typical VATS, Have you verified Fuel Pressure?

I'm going to put a pressure gauge on it in the morning, the house is starting to smell of gas and the girls are gagging

Re: Fire In The Hole

I worked on a 03 yukon denali with a 6.0 and if you let it sit for 30mins or so it would start and run for about 2 seconds then it would die and just crank and do nothing. if its doing this then it is probably your fuel pump as it was with his and if it starts everytime then comes up to about a grand then shuts off its your vats.

Re: Fire In The Hole

I'm thinking the injectors are just air bound it fires sometimes randomly while cranking so I'm going to bleed it at lunch time

Re: Fire In The Hole

I bled the injectors then hooked a gauge to the rail, 58 psi, so it's looking like VATS.... Jared is checking into it

Re: Fire In The Hole

If they are the original injectors, make sure they aren't gummed up from sitting. That happened to mine - it would start and then barely run. It sounds like its leaning towards the VATS as people said before.

Re: Fire In The Hole

that would be a concern it has been 4 years since it last ran and the fuel rails wreak of 4 year old gas but...when this thing fires it is deffinatly on 8, it sounds awesome with no tail pipes, then it dies no sputtering no miss fireing just "blip"...turn the key off and try it again, same thing...keep cranking it and nothing but turn the key off and immediatly try to restart it and it fires then quits

Re: Fire In The Hole

no need to bleed an EFI fuel line. Soon as those injectors pop open once, those bubbles will be SQUEEZED out in an instant

that's what I thought but I still got a lot of air out of it even after turning it over several times
