f-body, truck or corvette serpentine system
i see people using corvette stuff but I wanted to see if anyone used the f-body setup. I know the truck setup can be used which is what I have, but I figured I would ask since I can get a complete camaro setup. also what would be a good price for the complete system with brackets, pumps, alt, ect.

Re: f-body, truck or corvette serpentine system
Here's a post I did several months ago.
The F-Body accessories places the alternator very low in the engine compartment. It will interfere with the powersteering gearbox. http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f213/f...sories-323651/ |

Re: f-body, truck or corvette serpentine system
Here's the conclusion I've come to. All three serpentine setups work. The F-body sits closer to the block than the truck, and the Vette setup hugs the block even tighter than the F-body brackets. Since they all work, go with whatever one your budget allows so that you have more room for a radiator and fan mounted on the back side of the radiator. That's not to say one is "easier" than the others, since they all have their drawbacks with the alternator getting in the way of the power steering on the F-body pulley setup, the truck brackets sitting out so far causing problems with a good E-fan and the Vette accessories costing so damn much.
Pick your evil, while keeping your intake manifold in mind. |
