Extended Cab LsX Swaps Please
Hey I need you guys help my brother pointed out the fact that the extended cab s10's have a 2 piece driveshaft. It would be hard for me to run a 1 piece driveshaft I need to know if anyone out there has built one. The pinion angle might be bad the kind of power im trying to put down I don't need any week links in the drivetrain. Please any help would be very helpful.

Re: Extended Cab LsX Swaps Please
Your best strategy should be to contact a driveshaft supplier, like "The Driveshaft shop", or one of a dozen others.

Re: Extended Cab LsX Swaps Please
You need to talk to a Driveshaft company for trucks.
I think that Spohn more into racing Both of these can also build an extremely strong 2-piece driveshaft. Here's one of probably 20 that I found: http://www.dennysdriveshaft.com/ Here's another: http://www.thrashdriveshaft.com/4_wd_shafts.htm#GM%20PRODUCTS:%20CHEVROLET%20AND%2 0GMC S10 BLAZER-PICKUP & S15 ENVOY-SONOMA GMC PICKUP FRONT SHAFT: Most shafts are going to be a U-Joint type on both ends. Some have an enclosed CV similar to a front wheel drive car. In most cases we stock a new enclosed CV assembly. Some shafts also have an UJ CV assy and an enclosed CV assy at the pinion. Due to OEM variations it is difficult to know what type you may have. Please call or Email us with driveshaft description. REAR DRIVESHAFTS: Pricing does NOT include Transmission Slip Yoke Rear Shaft 1 piece 3 X 83 C-C 56<less DS1 Non CV Price Plus Slip Yoke$205-$225 Rear Shaft 1 piece 3.5 X 83 C-CL 57-72 DS1 Non CV Plus Slip Yoke $225-$245 Rear Shaft 2 piece 3 X 83 DS2 Non CV Price w/new Slip Yoke Call Last edited by philntx : 07-15-2008 at 06:37 PM. |

Re: Extended Cab LsX Swaps Please
The reason they don't want to do it is because there are problem with driveshafts longer then a certian length, like driveshaft whip. Plus you need to notch your cab i beleive if your lowered.
Pinion angle shouldn't be to hard if you know what your doing. Idealy the pinion angles should be the same or no more then a degree off. |

Re: Extended Cab LsX Swaps Please
Yea But I think I'm goin to go with the 2 piece its better for my truck than trying to make a 1 piece.
