Thumbs up completed LS1 rear disc swap

I know most people dont think swapping rear discs is easy well it is if you have a four bolt axle flange. i had a 3 bolt and it was pretty easy, i used LS1 rear brakes and it stops like you just a brick wall, and I did not have to change out my proportioning valve either. I tried locking the rear tires up in the rain and it wouldnt happen.. I also did not have to turn down the axle flange or space the caliper bracket from the housing....any ????? email me

Where did you get the parts at, and how much did it all cost you out the door?

Re: completed LS1 rear disc swap

shit thats funny i JUST got finished myself.....total for me was 470....220 for setup at the salvage yard another 220 for a new backing plate and a bolt and guide pin bushing and pads at the dealer (get replacement parts at www.gmpartsdirect.com to save some money i just needed the parts immediately) and other little miscellaneous shit like gear oil, additive, brake fluid, turning the rotors, blah blah

ill post pics later.....i had little trouble but nothing i couldnt do a second time even easier...i was just scared and skeptical, havent got to test them yet tho....

so all in all the cost is anywhere from 275-500 depending on what all you need and need to replace....

Re: completed LS1 rear disc swap

You just use an e-brake cable off of a 4x4 blazer with 4 wheel disc.

Re: completed LS1 rear disc swap

Except the offset for your rims would have to be for a 4x4 in the rear, and they wouldn't be LS1 quality or performance.

Re: completed LS1 rear disc swap

What kind of write up do you want??? step by step instructions what to do what not to do?? If you do attempt this swap get the camaro brake lines hard and soft. Stock s10 lines do not fit different type flares (s10 standard flare, camaro roll back flare)....
