Well this is the V8 discussion of an S10 forum so I think there have been a few conversions. I think there is a post somewhere here that says "starting ls1 for the first time" or something to that effect

Re: Anyone done a smog legal LS1 swapin a blazer yet?
Jloc, I have done a 98 S10 with a 502 big blocksmog legal. It took some time but is well worth it. If you are doing a small block that should very easy. Of course it needs a cat back system to go with the computer. Accel Corp helped with the chip to run the fuel delivery and timing. I used a fuelinjection system from a medium duty truck. My truck passed California carb laws. good luck....nick

Re: Anyone done a smog legal LS1 swapin a blazer yet?
A friend of Peko did a few V8 conversions. I'm pretty sure the guy worked with him. I haven't seen anything recently but the ones I've seen in the past were very nice. Edit: His screen name is Tomskifi. He didn't post much as Peko was his "internet guy". I'm wondering if he's been working on anything. The last thread I was following just ended all of a sudden almost a year ago. Last edited by syclone517 : 07-21-2006 at 03:44 AM. |

At this time, we don't recommend the LT1 swap for people who want to do a simple and inexpensive swap. The LT1 swap is expensive, complex, tedious, and expensive. Did we mention it can get expensive? If your friends tell you how neat it will be to install an LT1, remember this, most LT1 swaps into the S-10 don¹t get completed. Quoted from JTR Here's the page on it. http://www.jagsthatrun.com/Pages/Che..._Intro-24.html |

Yea thats a lt1 thow, he was looking for ls1 information. PM v8power he sells a swap book for ls1 swaps. But going with the previous post, ls1 swap is time consuming and quite expensive.

Re: Anyone done a smog legal LS1 swapin a blazer yet?
First off the guys at JTR are morons and don't know what they are talking about. Doing an LT1 conversion is a hell of alot easier than doing an LS1 conversion.
I would do the LT1 over the LS1 anyday much easier install. Everyone on here states go to JTR they know the most. Well their information is obsolete now on most of their info. Now things have come about doing V8 installs that they don't know about. |
