99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

I would like to build a conversion harness for my s10 swap. I have a 2000 5.3 and harness as well as the stock 2.2 engine harness that came in my truck. The lm7 diagrams are easy to find. Does anyone know where I can get my hands on the engine wiring diagrams for the 99 2.2 engine harness.
Thanks,
Kory

you want the harness pinouts? Or diagrams? I can email you the 2.2l and the 5.3 if you want ja.mcdonald@earthlink.net

Thanks much.

I don't think they'd do you any good, a 96 truck is too old to do it this way AFAIK.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

My harness is comming along great. Does anyone know if there is a pin on the pcm that can be used for the reverse lockout on a t56? If I was to use an fbody harness there is one. Not sure about the truck harness though.
Thanks for all the help.

2000 f body reverse lockout shows the c1 and c2 pins needed.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

If I remember correctly the last three didgets on the ecu tag are 896.
Do I need to switch to a 411? It would just require chainging the pin placement on that end of the harness correct?
Thanks again for the help.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

if its a 2000 its going to be a red/ blue connector the pins should be the same. Id have to look at an ecu pinout for the fbody and truck. I can do that later when I am off work.

some more info

you could also pm some of the guys in that thread about this.

so the only difference would be the operating system being used.

Thats great.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

yes it will work. I have run both pcms in my truck with the same os loaded in both of them.

The 896 were used in all lsx based vehicles from 99-2000 the 411 was used 2001-2002 then in 2003 they changed to the "Blue/Green" pcm which changed numbers every year but all the OS's are interchangeable for drive by wire. If you want to run cable throttle on the "Blue/Green" you need to make sure it has IAC drivers installed which are only in half of the service numbers.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

another thing to add - if you were using a 98+ truck you would want to use a truck os because the car os does not comunicate with the bcm properly. I had lots of troubles with this when I first started driving my truck.

Moon,
Do you happen to have the diagrams for the iat, and maf sensors. Those two plugs were cut from my harness. I think I know what needs to be fixed, diagrams would be great if you can get them.
Thanks,
Kory

if I sent you the engine controls harness for the 5.3, the connector and wire colors should be on them. Let me know if hthere not.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

I've been kicking around the idea of putting a 5.3 in my 2.2L truck. I've been running into issue after issue with the drive train and almost have myself convinced to just replace it altogether.

I would like 5.3/T56

Can a 5.3 harness be re-pinned/modified to work in a 2.2 truck?

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

I believe it was DeathPhoenix99 here on S10forum who uploaded many schematics and diagrams to google docs. Covers more than just S10s, but most years have lots of good info.

https://docs.google.com/folder/d/0B9...it?pli=1&hl=en

That's a link worth saving for anyone making major modifications or repairs to their electrical system. I've got that folder linked into my google docs to make it easy to find myself.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

You can absolutely repin a 5.3 harness to work in a 2.2 s10. Using the diagrams in this thread, I have almost finished doing exactly that.
There is alot of great info here. The process is time consuming, but not really hard.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

I added wiring for the reverse lights, and the reverse lockout. Use the above diagram for an fbody ls/t56 to figure that out. it's pretty easy.

I have a 98 Sonoma (originally 2.2/auto), a 2000 6.0 engine, (and wiring harness/ecu), and a t56. Any info on which parts, wiring, etc it would take to combine these?

I'm down to one last circuit. connector c100 pin N circuit 241. It gets fused ignition voltage. I can't find any diagrams for this circuit. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

Has anyone else converted a truck harness and swapped to a t56 as well? I have my harness plugged in and would like to fire the motor, just to hear it run for a few seconds to boost my interest in this project. I am still using a 2000 truck computer that was set up for a 4l60e. I know the vats will kill the fuel pump, but will the lack of an automatic neutral safety switch keep the purple starter wire from becoming hot in a cranking situation?
Thanks for any info you can provide.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

here are the wire diagrams for 3 vehicles

2000 s10 manual trans
2000 silverado both styles of trans
2002 camaro both styles

see if these will help you out. there in order of the list above. These should give you a better idea on how to crank it up, the trucks seem much easier as they dont go through the BCM like the camaro.

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

Moon,
Do you happen to have the wiring diagram for a 99 s10 bcm? I have my truck running, but my gauges don't work. I've traced the serial data wiring from the ecm to the bcm I think it's circuit 710. I have continuity from the pcm plug to the bcm plug, but no gauges.
It's driving me crazy.
Any info would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Kory

No. the only gauge that seems to move is the water temp.

check the gauge fuse by the door. the oil pressure gauge is separate from the bcm so that isn't your issue

Re: 99 2.2 s10 engine wiring diagrams

any chance this problem has anything to do with my ignition cylinder? The original one was broken. I replaced it. I've been checking the wiring and have not found anything that seems to be wrong yet.
The only thing that seems odd is I have a plug on the engine harness that I can't figure out. It has a brown wire and a black one. It is circuit 241 ignition voltage 3.
Those are my ideas currently

241 and voltage 3 is 4x4 shit. I removed that from the harness I am building now. It goes to the transfer case and front drive axle.
