A new harness is designed to plug in and make everything work.

The reworked/Stand-alone harness are designed to run the engine only (That's why it's cheaper). The rest is up to you.

In order for my gauges to work,do I have to use my old pcm?Run both pcm's?One for the motor and trans and the other for gauges?

Typically you would just use the 5.3 computer to do everything.

Really? I think the sticky might be outdated then, because I believe it says to just use the engines computer for just running the engine and the stock computer in the truck for the rest of the functions in the truck (gauges, abs, etc.) If I can just use one computer, that would be awesome.

Well... The stand-alone harness has the outputs from the computer for tach and speedo. You will have to find out where to splice those in to the truck, then, find the schematics for the rest of your gauges and figure out where to put the wires for those. Either they will go to a sending unit directly, like the oil pressure, or they may need to go to the computer depending on the gauge and the year of the truck.

Enjoy!!

O...ok i can do that... just as long as the gauges don't need to go through the computer i will be OK
