92 Battery Q

Lost my old positive batter cable. So im trying to remember how to hook my battery up. The Black Negative Cable goes to the frame and the side of the block...correct?

This is the positive cable i bought

Positive Battery Cable

It only goes to the Starter. Doesnt it have to go to the alternator too? Also read maybe the fuse box....

Also forgot what this goes to...or what was hooked up to it...

Any help appreciated guys

Re: 92 Battery Q

positive goes to the starter. if you havent disconnected anything else from the starter then you should be fine, if you have you need a positive to the distribution block on the firewall and from there you can run positive to the back of the alternator. that plug in the picture goes to the AC evaporator if im not mistaking.

Re: 92 Battery Q

That plug goes on (A/C Filter Dryer-Accumulator) Low pressure switch. Not evaporator! Evaporator is located inside the black case (the one you gotta trim to put the lsx in) hope this helps. as far as the starter positive wire NASTYNOVA62 is dead on!

Re: 92 Battery Q

do i have to run the wire to the distribution block? I have the Big red wire going from the the battery to the starter. Then there is a little red wire coming off the battery cable where it hooks up to the battery (see link^^) which i made longer and hooked that to the alternator...is that okay?

Re: 92 Battery Q

i would run that little red wire to dist. block on firewall then run wire from there to alt. that way you only have one wire to alt. and you have the distrubution block charged as well.

Re: 92 Battery Q

Yup big wire to starter then there is a mediuml (size #10 or #12) wire that is either spliced to the larger (size #4 or #6 wire) or it may be attached to the starter hot stud terminal .Then the small wire goes to the distro block right where the old spark ignition module was on the fire wall (its to the left of that) then you should have spliced a in line fuse wire from GM to the alt (this is to prevent you from shorting your alt out and electrical system) if you got any more questions ill email you pics of how my blazer is then you could get a visual reference. and i also believe the distro block also has additional wire that also goes to interior harness like radio/cigerette lighter but dont quote me on that ill look that up in my wire schematics tonight and check for sure

Re: 92 Battery Q

Okay cause i just have the small wire from the positive cable running straight to the Alternator. Wouldn't the power circulate to the distribition block through the wiring harness?

Re: 92 Battery Q

Battery + needs to touch 3 spots. Dist. block, Alternaotr, & Starter.

there is a smaller positive wire on the starter as well, that goes to your wire harness. That is where your wiring harness (PCM, electric fans, etc) Get power from!!!!!!

Re: 92 Battery Q

yea i have the wiring harness hooked up to the little one on the starter...the wiring harness is also hooked up to the Distribution block...

So ill have to run the wire from the cable to the distribution block and then to the alternator....it cant just run to the alternator?

Re: 92 Battery Q

the harness that goes to the dist. block should be all your ground wires. the + source is in the front of it.
