317 casting heads

Did the 317 heads come on the 6.0 liters, and/ or would they be a good casting head for the stock LS1?

or would the Cnc'ed 243's be better?

thanks for everyone's advice!

Re: 317 casting heads

#317s came on 6.0L trucks. They are said to have the good LS6 (210cc) intake runner and "D" port exhaust. Basically a copy of the #243 head but with a bigger combustion chamber.

So putting #317s on an LS1 would drop your compression ratio. CNCd #243s are a way better choice, but obviously more expencive.
