I need to get a door kit now because my new doors are shaved. My question is if i get one of your direct bolt in kits and if i chose the one with an alarm, how hard is it to install? The door kit sounds easy but how hard is the alarm to install? Also if i get your kit is it possible to install a switch on the truck some where and have it so if you try to hit the button on the truck to open the door it won't open unless you were to unlock the truck? I don't know if you could do this or not, as i don't really want to hit the remote every time i want to open the door. thanks

Re: What kit should i get?
The Kit That You Should Get sdk8 That Come With The Bolt In Latches And 4-channel Alarm System. The Install On The Alarm Is Not To Bad We Can Provide You A Diagram For Vehicle So All The Wiring That You Have To Tap Into You Would Know Where To Find Them And What Color That They Are. For Your Button ? The Kind Of Button That You Can Use Are Marin Switchs Because They Are Water Prof But That Style Switch Is Very Large And Noticeable. If You Don't Use Taht Kind Of Switch You Can Get Water In Them And Cause A Short In System Worse Of All It Would Short Out The Motor That The Switch Is Hooked Up To.

Re: What kit should i get?
thanks, i will probably just use the key fob. If i were to get the universal kit instead of the bolt on kit, even with the alarm the only difference would be to mount the solenoid right? Also if i were to get the bolt in kit is there a new latch mechanism or does it still use the existing one? thanks a bunch.

Re: What kit should i get?
The alarms and wiring kits are the same in all kits. The bolt on vs OUR universal kit is just time to install it....One bolts on the other requires you to mount it to your door.... We recently changed the design to bring down the cost for customers,so you will use your exisiting latch. If your latch is dirty,I highly recommend taking your latch out and clean it with break cleaner then use WHITE LITHIUM GREASE to re-grease the latch. |
