quick switchbox wiring question

ok, my current switchbox, the giant 10 switch one, is wired directly to my valves, so if i take and cut that wiring harness in half, then just strip the ends of the wires and put them into the correct connectors for the new box, that will work right?

Re: quick switchbox wiring question

that would be a pain in itself. you ever seen the wiring inside one of those boxes? might be cheaper and easier, to just buy a whole new ten switch box then match the colors back up.unless you are just talking about cutting all the wirings off an old box, then splicing the wires together off a diff box, then yes that will work. but if you mean cutting the wires, then wiring it up to all the switches inside a diff box that would be a huge pain in the ass IMO

no, i mean just cutting the cord off the old switch box and hooking it up to the new box, cause the avs rocker boxes have that little computer or whatever that the wires plug into, i think it will work

Yea that would work BUUUUUT....you wouldn't have a clean install! Here is how you figure out what wire is what valve:

Grab 12+ Drill Battery
Tapped valve wire on positive side of battery
You will hear the click or air up/down
Once you know what valve it is plug it into your NEW AVS box

or you could just color code the things, after about 5 vehicles you tend to do this... red for fills black for dumps and 4 different colored zip ties. works great
