l.e.d.tails question

i recently wired up some avs tricolor leds for someone and they didnt seem to show a noticable difference between tail and brake light. they are on a 2000 silverado using a supplied round adapter with 3 wires in and 2 out. the turn signals and reverse lights work fine. is it possible those adapters can be messed up or would it be an issue on the circuitry of the light itself.

On 99up full size Chevy's you can not wire up our modules to the factory taillight wires. In order for it to work off of the factory taillight wires you would need our 4-wire modules which cost more. BUUUUT, you can take our 3-wire modules that you have and wire them into the round 7-pin trailer plug that is tucked away in the rear driver's side frame. Email me if you need a diagram.

In 1999 GM changed the way they wired their taillights. Instead of the traditional way which had the brake light and turn signal on the same light filament, they opted to use separate bulbs like most import vehicles. But the trailer harness is still wired in the traditional way. Save your money and use the 3-wire mods that you have since there is no advantage in using the 4-wire in your application. Just wire them into the trailer harness.
