How-to Install Arc 9 switch
sorry if this has been done already. i searched myself and couldn't find anything, so i figured i'd toss this up here.
just got my arc 9 switch, and first of all i freakin love it!! its so small and convenient. what i didnt like was that the wire comes out the front. kris said its setup like that, so that the relay box can be installed under the dash. i was actually installing the box in the x-cab though, and wanted the wire to come out the back so that it felt more natural. i know i've seen where a few people (adam) paid extra to have it wired backwards, but there is an easier way.. just wire it backwards at the relay box. the relay box doesnt know what valve its switching, it just knows its sending a signal to a valve. i've also seen a few people that did not have the wiring diagram on the back of thiers. so, i'm including that as well. so, anyway, i couldn't really find any pics of just how small this thing was. i mean reading the dimensions is one thing, but actually seeing it and holding it was pure pleasure... i'm talking about the switchbox folks. ![]() so anyway, if you want to wire it normally, with the wire coming out the top, and hold it like this.... ![]() then you'll want to follow the normal diagram on the back. if for some reason you didnt get a diagram, here is a picture of it.. ![]() now, if you plan to have the relay mounted behind you or under a seat, etc.. or you just want the wire coming out the bottom ( i thought it felt more natural ) like this... ![]() then you'll want to wire it like soo.... 12. driver front up 11. driver front down 10. passenger front up 09. passenger front down 08. driver rear up 07. driver rear down 06. passener rear up 05. passenger rear down 04. remote up input ( optional ) 03. remote down input ( optional ) 02. ground 01. +12 volt input i've seen a few people ask how the buttons are oriented... its actually really simple, just imagine the box is your truck. the four corners are your four bags. the front middle is both fronts, the back middle is both backs. the left side middle is both driver side bags. the right side middle is both passenger side bags. and of course the middle button, is all bags ( pancake ) if you wired it normally, with the wire out the top, it will be like this.. ![]() and if you wired it backwards, with the wire out the bottom it will be like this.. ![]() |

Re: How-to Install Arc 9 switch
werd, when i had my front bagged, i had it wired up backwards so the wire came out from behind you, but now that im fully bagged i have it wired up right cuz i have a couple sticky switches and i hardly use those anyways, i have a 7 switch, but i wanna upgrade to a 9 switch sometime soon

Re: How-to Install Arc 9 switch
i find it VERY easy to hit all 9 switches with my thumb without moving the switchbox in my hand at all.
and they are much easier to control than the toggles were on my 10 switch. on the 10 switch, one simple flip would lift or drop as much as 10-20 psi. i couldnt get the truck to sit where i wanted it to, without a lot of fighting. with this one, one quick tap, and i'm able to control as little as 2-4 psi i nthe front at a time, and 1-2 psi in the rear. WAAAAY more control. |

Re: How-to Install Arc 9 switch
I love this box, its so nice. and they didnt even wire my backwards like i told them to and paid extra for....so mine is wired like everyone else, i just paid $10 extra for nothing
BUT they ended up sending me a free t shirt to make up for the $10 difference after I told them I was mad. Anyways, yes all ya gotta do it what you said, but nice write up! |
