AVS slammed by AIM in new MT

Whats the deal? Last month, SD was slammed, now AVS?

Not having been in the scene for years, is there truth to the ads (especially in regards to the LED kits, LED caddys, line of fire, etc)?

Thanks for clearing things up

if they have to resort to slandering another company in the open like that, to save their own face, would you trust them? i wouldn't not when you have the facts and alot of true experiences, right here on this forum...

True true! I buy from the company I feel most comfortable with (AVS, SD, waylayed, etc)....

But....

50% off AVS' pricing of an item that doesnt jeopardize my life (ie, non-suspension parts) is pretty damn good though, you have to admit. Line of fire w/o revers for $69 is one heck of a deal. My main question is, does AVS get alot of their items from the same supplier in China as AIM (like the ad says)?

To me it seems like thier last resort....they arent making the sales they want to be making and they dont know how to deal with it other then bashing the trustworthy companies we have all known to love.....to the guys at AVS and SD....you really dont need to explain yourself....I dont think this pathetic type of advertising will win any of your existing customers over....just keep doing what your doing....and let them stick a big devil face over thier whole advertisement......

I definitely feel ya! Joe Morrow, who is the owner of the following companies:

AIM
ChassisTech
SRP (Streetridepro.com)
Airbagit.com.
Airspringdirect.com
Airridepro.com
StreetPerformance.com

has made us his "target" for the next 12 months. This is supposedly because we used the words "CHINA BAGS", "BUDGET BAGS" and "2-PLY" in regards to the bags that we were carrying of his last year. These words were published in our catalogs as well as on our website. He just recently said something about it after being on there for almost a year. Joe was appalled that we would use these terms in regards to his bags. He emailed me and demanded that we change the website immediately. Later that day we changed his first gripe about the words "CHINA BAGS" to reflect his many names. We did this only because he was a pest emailing me all day long. Then he griped about the words "2-PLY". We then removed those words just to shut him up. And it just kept going on from there. Nothing made him happy. Now you may ask, what's the big deal about those words, when they ARE ACCURATE??? We'll, Joe says that I intentionally worded it that way to make his bags look bad and that we are using it as a "leader" to lure our customers in and then sell them a Dominator bag. NOT TRUE!!! When we printed our catalogs and put the bags on our site last year with the above phrases, the Dominators were not even close to being available yet, nor were we even an Airlift dealer back then. Not to mention that we don't use any "lure" tactics on our customers. All of this happened the day after we uploaded our new ad to the Street Trucks FTP server. Everyone can see everyone else's ads. When Joe saw that I personally endorsed the Dominator bag on our new ad, he lost it!

To make an even longer story short, it boils down to this: Joe used us as an excuse to go after Airlift (the company making the Dominator bag). He even told them to drop us as a distributor or else he would move forth with his DENOMINATOR BAG vs. DOMINATOR BAG campaign. Here's an excerpt from one of the many emails that Joe sent to Airlift and myself:

"The reason I am on the warpath is because Jeff at AVS is
representing our bag as 'CHINA BAG" and I am not pleased
whatsoever. If he is going to do this to "move" the customer
to your China bag, then I am flat going to retaliate in every
way possible to educate the public, etc. and have my own
re-dimensioned Dominator bag very quickly and present it to the
market. I know you cannot tell them how to advertise, but if
you sell him, then it means you condone this low class advertising,
and I will respond in kind.

Sincerely,
Joe Morrow"
Now this is one of the nicer ones. He continues to send me emails at least several times a day stating that he will expose the truth about how everything is made in China and that his parts are the same as everyone else's. He cusses me out all the time and threatens to do this and that, but yet we do nothing back to him. BUT, he says, if I apologize he will then cease his ad campaign against us. He wants me to apologize for the words that I used to describe his bags that we got stuck with. I don't think so! I did nothing wrong or else I would apologize! Now if you've seen the ads with the AVS DEVIL, this is due to Matt Petro, formerly of Gauge. Matt was going to take a CEO position at AIM but was having second thoughts. He started calling many different people that he new in the industry to see if we would ever buy from AIM if he was to take over and clean up the place. As you are already thinking we all told him the same thing and suggested that it was a VERY bad move for him. In one of my email conversations I told Matt to be very careful if he did decide to take the position because he'd be working for the DEVIL (Joe Morrow). Matt showed the email to Joe to try and convince him how hated he is in our industry and for him to step down and let Matt take over. Since then, Joe now gives AVS a red devil head when he refers to us in his ads and as I've heard, Matt declined the position. The magazine companies can't do anything about it either. But they all tell me the same thing: YOUR PRODUCTS SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES JEFF!!! And as you all know that is VERY TRUE!!! Whether we make a product in house, China, Taiwan or on Mars, if it has the AVS logo on it, it better be damn good!

Re: AVS slammed by AIM in new MT

hahaha, search google for "joe morrow aim"

you get this as search results: Results 1 - 10 of about 67,200 for joe morrow aim.

also, reading the little exerpt from each one on the first page, you find, "read all negative comments about...", "i have found joe to be a horrible owner", "cheap parts", "poor quality", etc...

joe morrow needs to be shot! lol, or at least one of his shAIM bags pressure tested underneath him..

Our LED lights and Caddy lights ARE MADE IN HOUSE! The actual circuit board is made overseas to our specifications which I can not disclose. Joe might be reading this and I don't want to educate him. What am I saying, he knows everything about everything anyways! lol! But seriously, he doesn't even carry a flush mount LED or Caddy light like ours so I have no idea where he is getting them. We do have future plans of having our LED kits made in Taiwan, again, to our strict specifications. After we do, we will be able to drop the price. But making and purchasing the aluminum buckets, lenses, modules, templates and labor in the US, we have to charge what we charge. Also, our long LED lights blow away the Line of fire lights. If anyone would like to lend us one, we'll take some side by side pics and post them up for all to see.

Wow,

It always holds true when someone has struggled to stay afloat they reach a point they can no longer tread water on there own so they reach out and grab on to to anything large close buy to help pull them up, in turn they pull that thing down. This is so the mark of a failing company grabbing whatever floats by and trying to take it under simply to bring them selves back up above.

My Family deals with Failing business on a regular basis, it will only get worse from here.

AIM, worst company ever imho. Back in the mid 90's I made the mistake of ordering some of their "quality" products. After dealing with crappy customer service over crappy parts I have not bought anything from them since, nor will I ever in the future.

WOW.

Simple here. and no i STILL have no rec'd a reply to my email, nor will I ever, as Joe is obviously yellow. He can cry and cry, but cant take it.

Matt is a helluva guy, I'm suprised by this. However, Matt (I hope you see this) I commend you for taking him an email and showing it to him. Hopefully joe sees this post as well.

Joe, your an idiot, your product sucks, your customer service sucks, your ideas, morals, values and overall attempt at life sucks. As a person, you suck. Your worth in the industry is ZERO. Your a cheat, liar, crook and scam-artist. I truley hope your company goes down and you with it. I would love so much to want to get a subscribtion to many of the truck magazines without having my retinas burst into flames at the mere sight of your filthy, stinking, pathetic ads. YOU and your shithole company are one of the reasons that there are problems in this industry.

The reason for those extra pages is the result of Joe throwing a hissyfit when MiniTruckin did a shop tour for us. Joe gave the poor mag guys hell that they did a shop tour for us instead of him. So this is how they make it up to him. By the way, the editors/photographers of the mags are awesome guys. It's the sales people and corporate big wigs that have their heads up their asses and do whatever it is that Joe wants. It's pretty pathetic. But the cool thing is that you, the consumers, don't fall for their load of crap.

Well here's what I want to know... Does Joe know his products suck or does he think everyone in the industry makes products of the same caliber as him?

Can you guys and all the other big companies that Joe tries to defame not bring a lawsuit against Joe for what he does and lies about? I wished all the customers, well ex-customers of his would form a class action lawsuit that'd run him into the ground like Saddam Hussein.

Re: AVS slammed by AIM in new MT

ok, the ad says it takes 4 of the denominator bags to hold up 10,000 pounds... how many bags does it take from airlift, contitech, or slam specialties???? i thought the 2800 pound bags would hold somewhere around 3,000 pounds EACH.. therefore 3 bags could do the work of four chasitech bags

Re: AVS slammed by AIM in new MT

lets play simple economics. how many people here buy MT magazine?
what if you wrote a letter saying as long as AIM has an ad in the mag, you refuse to renew your subsciption, or buy another magazine?

would that hurt sales?

i think it would make an impact.

I get Sport Truck every month and have for years. Just got the new one a couple days ago, and seen the denominater bags, I couldn't help but laugh. He has a pretty good smear campaign in that issue as well. He can kiss my ass, there's no way I would do business with a weasel like that.

Edit: He's also advertising buy 2 get 2 free. He's hurtin' bad. lol

Re: AVS slammed by AIM in new MT

avs, sd, art, or any other sponsor that is on this forum is different than joe and his companies. you guys build quality stuff that has a good reputation and people know it and will continue to buy stuff. your specialty is not building bags, so you look into the market and select top quality stuff to sell because you want the products that you sell to be as good as the quality of stuff you make. joe obviously spends no money on good materials because he's trying to give shit and i mean shit, away if you buy some of his shit. he makes any and everything. you can't specialize in every single aspect of suspension and have everything top quality. slam, airlift, and others specialize in making bags. they don't make bags, brackets, lift kits, spindles, ect..... they stick to one thing and do a damn good job of it.

eff you joe

And a single old 2B7 at 200PSI would lift 10,000lbs lol Proven fact haha./
