9 Rocker Switchbox Problems

ok, so my 9 rocker switchbox is fockin up. Its like it just freezes and stops workin completely. sometimes it works for a couple days at a time, but its starting to happen more and more, so usually a couple times a day, it just stops working. at first i thought i was having problems with either my power or ground to the box, so i ran new power and grounds to the box. This didn't help. I used my multimeter when it froze up, i stuck the leads in with the power and ground and was gettin power even when the box wasn't workin.

i can tell its the switchbox and not the valves or anything cause when it freezes up, all the valves, up and down stop working. And also, the relay box of the switchbox clicks itself, and when it freezes it doesn't click.

i dunno whats wrong, perhaps is something in the box itself... all i know is that this box has left me unable to get the truck off the ground, or not able to make adjustments quite a few times now.

any help? suggestions?

Try locking and then unlocking your key switch. If you haven't used the key switch in a while it might have slightly moved making it lose contact. If that doesn't fix it then it might be a defective key switch. If you are comfortable opening up the box you can wrap a small piece of of copper wire around the two terminals of the key switch (just strip the insulation off of a piece of speaker wire). Again, if you feel confident and have access to a soldering iron unsolder the wires from the key switch and solder them together making sure to insulate the soldered connection with a piece of shrink tubing or liquid tape. Run it like this for a little while and if the problem has gone away you can send it to back to us for a key switch replacement. If you are not comfortable/confident in doing those procedures then simply send it back to us for warranty and we'll thoroughly go through it for you. You do have a limited lifetime warranty on this box so don't worry. Let me know what happens either way. Thanks!

Re: 9 Rocker Switchbox Problems

If not that check your ground. A loose/ bad ground can do it as well.

Re: 9 Rocker Switchbox Problems

i do believe Jeff was right from the beginning, i locked/unlocked my switchbox a few times, and ever sense it has worked just fine with no random freezing. i just think my lock is a little loose...
