82-93 S10 Door Shaved Door kit

I am having trouble with these poppers i hooked them up to my alarm and it will not open either door. I did everything in manual like 20 different times. It seems the popper does not pull enough and also when it tries to open the whole bracket moves the cable does not move so much. Could they be bad?

Re: 82-93 S10 Door Shaved Door kit

mine was the same way.

The cable the actuator pulls on the bracket, is too long, and i had to weld the bracket to the door so it wouldnt move. Now my window is hitting on the popper. I'm going to look at it again tomorrow, but i've had nothing but problems so far. I'll post an update tomorrow, when i have more info.

I'm sure AVS will make good on this, they've been very good to me so far.

Re: 82-93 S10 Door Shaved Door kit

the wire that the actuator pulls, to open the latch, is too long. I made a new one with #12 solid wire. Fixed that problem.

When i roll my window down, the window hits the popper where the screws go thru the back of the actuator.

I'll try to get some pictures.

Re: 82-93 S10 Door Shaved Door kit

I used a dremel to grind down the track that's attached to the window, that was hitting the actuator. Now my remotes arent working, tried reprogramming it, with no luck yet.

Here's a picture

Re: 82-93 S10 Door Shaved Door kit

I did not mess up nothing the problem was the latch itself . I think the cables are a little to long too. But i got it wired up to my remote and its working fine.

Re: 82-93 S10 Door Shaved Door kit

Just trim that plastic piece on the window and you should be good to go! Some of the older sdimes need that piece trimmed.

Re: 82-93 S10 Door Shaved Door kit

yeah, i did, with a dremel. Got any advice on reprogramming my remotes? I might not have left the ignition on long enough, but im having a heck of a time getting them to work.

Thanks for the help Kris.

Dont hook the yellow wire up to your ignition...just tap the yellow wire on 12+ volts 5 time on the 5th time leave it on there the red light on the 12 channel should come on...then hit the first button on each remote...
