Want Air but dont have any Air Exp at all?

OK so i want to ride on air and the ground! I cant weld at all! And have no idea on how to even begin to install a kit? Any ideas. And how much would a full kit cost me ( Front and Back)? I was thinking bolt on. What would be the easiest cheap route to go? Now im the type of person that is against shops and want to do all work on my dime myself but im thinking with this i dont want to f*** it up. You think i should just take it to a shop for install or what? Last question, If i do end up taking it to a shop how long you think it would take them to get truck back to me, and how much of a dent will be out of my pocket for maint?

Please help a fellow dimer that wants to be on the ground like all of you.

Re: Want Air but dont have any Air Exp at all?

I'm in the same boat as you. I dropped my truck off last weekend at LaynBodyS-10's shop, where he is currently putting my truck together. I know nothing about welding, or installation of a bagged suspension setup, nor do I have the tools or a place to work on my truck. I know I want my truck bagged and I want it done by someone who knows what they're doing.
That's the main reason I went with a shop. If I had the tools, time, and a beater to drive, I'd love to try to do it myself. But I don't.

I think I spent around 3600.00 for a 5link kit and everything needed to lay out on 20's from SD. Then there's labor charge which I'm sure every shop is going to be different.

If you don't wanna fuck up, and want it to be done right. Go with a shop.

Well, a few companies offer bolt on kits. I'm not sure if you know this already, but you posted this in a "Sponsor forum," which (Air Ride Technologies) is a company. Maybe you might get more of a turnout in your thread if you posted it in the Baggin' It section.
Back to your question, the bolt on kits are somewhat expensive. I have heard of people spending as much as $5,000 to bag their truck. I've heard as low as about $1,100. Of course, you can go as high as you want, with custom stuff. If you don't have experience with it, you might want to help someone do theirs first, then try your own, or pay a shop to do it for you. Good luck man!

Re: Want Air but dont have any Air Exp at all?

i spent 2g on all the parts alone, valves, comps, tank, bags, bushing ect and made my own notch and bars/brackets. there are bolt on kits u can get but they dont look cheap at all.
best to take it to a shop to get all the welding done and just wire it up and run the lines ur self to save some $

buddy spent about 4g on a 3 link bolt on from air ride using 1/4 lines valve body ect and done it him self. to slow for my liking

My dime is bagged with all bolt on parts. I am not that great of a welder so I chose the bolt on way. I have a lot of experience working on cars, but this was my first time bagging a vehicle. I spent about $3000 on parts (Road Grater, SD lower arms, 2x 450 compressors, 8 1/2" smc valves, 8 gallon tank, gages, fittings, and all the odds and ends). The truck is in my sig if you are interested.

Most of your Viair and Thomas compressors are sealed units and can be exposed to the elements, your tank valves etc. will hold up as well so instead of wasting the time and money on a false floor you can mount every thing underneath the vehicle....
