ORRRR maybe a bolt on 3 link from FBI. I know most people like to hop on the SD bandwagon....but my FBI stuff works great. Never had any problems and pretty simple and straight-forward to install.

Re: road grater?

Only problems I have with mine is the upper 3 link bushing wears out. But that is my fault as I hit sides with it. And of course, it does not get killer lift. But it gets the job done. I have hauled about 800 lbs or so in my bed with no problem. Has been on truck for 2 years atleast.

Re: road grater?

Mine has been rock solid so far, it has survived 8 months of torture on the roads of WV and has had no failings at all.

Re: road grater?

I know my opinion may seem a little bias but before I worked at ART I ran the RG on my dime for 3-4 yrs. no probs. at all.... IMO stick with a legit company and stay away from bargain buys.... if you have any questions feel free to shoot them my way.....

Negative GhostRider... I don't have any returns or blow outs but if you give one of our dealers a call they may be able to give you a lil break..

Re: road grater?

I am basically pissed off with the kit. It worked out great for a while. But the bushings cost like 10$ a piece and wear out as fast as I change my oil. I get terrible rear end sway and wheel hop. Other than that its nice, the powder coat didnt hold up worth a shit either.

Thats weird, I don't have either of those problems at ride hight. If I am rolling extremely low then I get some hop if I floor it, but that is kinda to be expected.

Edit: Mine is a 4.3 auto extended cab.

They are the same polyurethane bushings that we use on all of our kits. when u are tightening the bolts and snuging every thing down, at what height are you doing this?

I've had both...and im VERY happy with the cheaper "FBI crap". Hell I can fill my tank twice with the money I saved, and we all know how high gas prices are these days.

Ride height, Ive have pretty much made up my mind, I am going to just replace the bushing in the wish bone and check out the lower link bushings. I drive my truck at a lot of different heights, some days 2" off the ground and other days, I might just air it up a little more and leave the switches alone.

Re: road grater?

have had my rg on for almost 5 years, never any problems regardless of wheel size, ride height, or anything else. the only problems i did have the shock tabs broke off and i had to build new ones. but other than that no probs.

Re: road grater?

Im looking at buying parts over the winter, ive been eye balling this kit for a while now, Looks like this is a fairly easy thing to install. Agreed??

Or should i have a shop install it, also.. do you reccomend bagging lets say the rear of the truck, and leaving the front dropped on springs, or do it all at once (im on a budget right now)

Reccomended to do them seperate? (safety wise) or should it all be done at once.

I to did mine all at once over the winter couple years back, I would say do them together the truck is already torn apart, that is if you can afford to let your truck to be down for a bit and have the room to do it.

Re: road grater?

Ya that's the problem. I would probably do the back.. with the bed off, and just put some springs on the front, just to lower it a bit. Then finish the front, i dont have alot of room other than my drive way to do it, and not alot of cashflow. (enough to do front/rear one at a time)

I did mine in my driveway, by myself, took me 7 days.

I collected parts till I had everything I needed, I wanted to do it all in one shot.

Re: road grater?

yea the cash flow is always a problem, you know once you get the rear done its going to drive you nuts not having the front done, well it would me anyways.I bought the front first then saved up to do the rear and controls(valves and what not).
