i know they press in but is just any shop going to be able to press the old ones out and press the new ones in or is there something that would prevent just anybody being able to do it. or can i do it with simple hand tools?

Re: lower ball joints

You can rent a ball joint installation tool from autozone.

Re: lower ball joints

to push them out? or put them in?

i just had to do this to my truck after i trashed the old getting the spindles off.

to get them out, use a sledge hammer or something, however, you might need to buy new balljoints after this lol
to get them in, go to autozone and rent the balljoint press. i spent an entire night trying to get the balljoints in without the press, nothing but the press works. keep in mind, it was like $100 to rent it... but you get all $ back
