Re: control arms ?

you don't have to modify the motor. if anything it frees up alittle more space.

Re: control arms ?

yea actually you do. if you have a 4 cyl you will need to cut the exhaust off and run the exhaust out the hood, or THROUGH the control arm.

if you have a 4.3, then you will need to notch the engine block and get shorter spark plugs. and the exhaust will have to be run over the motor to the to the passenger side since there is more room over there..

Re: control arms ?

So I come on here today thinking to myself i wonder if anyone has some cool shit to talk about. Nope, just some not so smart guy asking if he has to modify his motor to fit new control arms... yeah, you will have to do a 3cyl Geo swap in order to fit SD or any other control arms. You'll also probably have to tub your bed to fit slicks so you can hook up with all the power the 3cyl puts out! wow

Re: control arms ?

Well, being that motors are electric and engines run from fuel, it sounds as if your truck (with it's motor) must already be heavily modified. You should get three more motors and put one on each wheel. Keep factory suspension and add enough batteries to run all your motors. Weight from your batteries will have you on your bump stops and it won't matter that you have factory control arms. And your gas milage will be outstanding.

Or you can go look under your hood and use a little forethought before asking questions with obvious answers.

Next time you flip through a truck magazine, don't just look at the pictures. Check out a tech article or two. Then do the same thing next month. You'll be amazed at the result. By this time next season you'll be a genious.
