Airbar idea?

I've been thinking of this for a long time about mods to the airbar.

I already know about a c-notch and the 2" blocks. But I read that this makes the drive shaft hit the gas tank cross member. What if you purchased the raised gas tanks member from the road grater? Would this help to get closer to the ground? Would it even fit on the crossmember from the road grater?

Just an idea.

I read somewhere else about this. The person who asked never really got an answer either.

As far as baggin' my truck goes, maybe, not too sure yet.

Re: Airbar idea?

I'm not 100% sure but another problem would be the rear end pumpkin hitting the bed floor.

Re: Airbar idea?

Well. cutting the bed wouldn't be too much of a problem for me personally. The good thing is that you wouldn't have to cut so much out.

But if the roadgrater cross member doesn't fit. I'm sure the guys over at suicide doors would weld the tabs on to on of there cross members. Just got to give them the measurements.

Re: Airbar idea?

What are you running as far as the fron setup on there. So I see you pretty much lay the plastic on your kit. Since I am running a 27" tire I will be about 3/4" higher than that. I can live with that...looks great. Thanks for the pics.

Well, I have decided on not using the air bar for my truck. But the only thing you'd have to cut a hole for is the pumpkin. So the hole won't have to be half the bed. So this way you could still use your bed even though there will be a small hole for the pumpkin which won't be hard to cover.
